Watch "Glee"

I should have emphasized * if* ^^^

I am getting in trouble in the internets lately- cause I don’t spell out winkies!

While I liked him standing up for his son, I hated the way he handled Finn. He’s spent the last several weeks reaching out to Finn, the kid who never even met his dad and obviously has some real issues in a way that I found was touching, and then he throws him out of his house for something that he admits he himself did all the time when he was young. Finn, in my opinion, was put in a ridiculously untenable situation. He’s just getting used to the idea of his mom being with someone and they all move in together and he isn’t even given a chance to talk through it. Then he has to share a room and it’s a room most football players would have a hard time with. But the real problem is that he’s forced to share a room with a guy he knows has a crush on him. How many 16 year olds would be comfortable in this scenario with all these factors? Is it surprising that he blew up? He should have been given a space of his own. Forcing two kids to live together like that is a recipe for disaster. But I felt like Kurt’s dad really did way more psychological damage to Finn than Finn did for Kurt. He could have stood by his kid and not decimated Finn in the process.

It was a very heavy-handed scene, just bad writing.

I think his reasoning made sense–he has to create a safe home environment for his son–but he could’ve handled it differently.

I saw Glee for the first time just recently - the Neil Patrick Harris episode. Was wondering what would fill the void now that LOST is finished. This might be it. Very entertaining!

Tonight’s finale…

D is going to a Glee Finale Watching Party…wish I was invited!

missypie - How fun! We will all be watching it here too.

OMG, what a great episode. The *Bohemian Rhapsody *scene was a masterpiece. (Did you read that JG had to get 5 stitches in his arm after that scene from a high heel injury?)

To Sir With Love is one of my favorite movies/songs ever. I tried for a year to persuade D to sing it at her last middle school voice recital but she refused. She was watching from cheer camp and texted me about it.

FINALE SPOILERS

I thoroughly enjoyed hearing Santana sing. She’s really got a voice! It was good hearing the heretofore mute football players speak too.

Much of it was predictable (the fate of the baby, for one) but enjoyable nonetheless. A long wait till September… :)

I was happy with the ending. I’m really glad they didn’t win.

Although I’m not too sure about Sue’s sudden change of heart.

Thought Vocal Adrenaline definitely deserved to win - great performance and perfect for Quinn giving birth. I felt we should have seen a little more of a struggle in terms of Quinn giving up her baby after holding her and I wondered what happened with her mother. In the last group scenes, Quinn just did not look like someone who had gone through childbirth, saying good-bye to a child, just finding out her parents are separating, etc. She seemed like a high school kid with not a care in the world. As for Sue, they had to find a way for the class to go on and I can live with that. I thought it was a good episode.

Amazing episode, I thought they did an excellent job with the Journey songs. :)

Loved both To Sir With Love and Somewhere Over the Rainbow…

Spoiler alert!

I thought Idina Menzel’s character adopting Quinn’s baby was very contrived. I know the show is unrealistic (hey, that’s partly why I watch), but this was too much.

Loved “To Sir With Love”. I was also happy to hear Santana sing. Lea Michele is terrific, but she’s not the only one.

That baby was beautiful!!!

I agree, fallgirl, but the entire show, and I mean entire, is contrived. There is very little that is at all believable in the show, and the writing is incredibly weak. It’s what has disappointed me from the very beginning. And, seriously, couldn’t they have found a baby who was remotely close to being a newborn? Even the over-produced, lip-synched, auto-tuned musical performances are pretty ridiculous, but without them, I wouldn’t watch at all.

D texted me from her party that * Over the Rainbow *reminded her of Mark Greene’s death on ER, which was exactly what I was thinking. The amazing thing is that she was 9 years old when that happened-I had no idea she would remembr that.

The fact that they could do something really original with Over The Rainbow testifies to the depth of talent this show has at every level.

JHS, that was the Israel Kamakawiwo’ole version of Over the Rainbow. It’s a beautiful version but wasn’t an original arrangement. Jason Castro did it on American Idol a few years ago. The cast of Glee performed this at the White House a couple of months ago.
