Love the singing…HATE the jackets.

I enjoyed the character focus of the show tonight. And in particular how they are treating Kurt and Blaine and their trying to figure out how to be who and what they are. Such a fun and silly show to be able to approach such a big and heavy topic which so needs to be thought and talked about!!

We like the whole Warblers storyline, partly because we love the Tufts Beelzebubs (acappella group). They don’t appear as characters on the show, but they’re the ones who actually perform the Warblers’ vocals and arrangements. The other reason is that both my daughters have a crush on Darren Criss, who plays Blaine. D1 was a big fan of A Very Potter Musical which I think was done while he was at U Mich. The Warbler’s version of “Teenage Dream” is charming and well done. I actually sort of like the jackets, but then I’m old!

I don’t much get into the HS characters, but do - or rather did - like Sue Sylvester very much. She’s at her best when sharp, understated and sinister. Lately it seems they’re taking her in more of a wacky direction, and it’s dumbing it down.

I get satire. I thought the first two season of Buffy the Vampire Slayer did a pretty good job of sending up high school life. This? Not so much.

Don’t worry though, I won’t be raining on your parade again! I’d just heard so much positive about Glee, I was really hoping to like it more. (You haven’t seen anything till you see my 5 year old nephew singing and dancing to the Glee version of Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance. He’s adorable.)

^^don’t feel bad mathmom; it is certainly NOT for everybody…

I couldn’t watch The Sopranos or Sex in the City without gagging…and they are iconic TV shows…I used to think it was me…

so there you go!! (would love to see your nephew on youtube though!!)

Oh mathmom, comment all you want! I know lots of people who think Glee is dumb. And even I thought Sunday’s was on the dumber side.
Last night’s was much better! I too am afraid they are going to ruin the Sue character by taking her too far.

I agree, dbwes! Last night’s episode was much better than Sunday night’s. And maybe it was because Sue was largely absent from last night’s episode.

The only thing I don’t like about the Warblers is I kiss Kurt singing. I hope they bring him forward again.

The only thing I don’t like about the Warblers is I kiss Kurt singing. I hope they bring him forward again.

I don’t like their jackets- I think the trim makes them look cheap.
I also miss the interaction with Kurt & the other characters- I’d like to see more of his & Finns home life.
Lets get some middle aged people on the show- after all Sue is what * 29*?
;)

I do like Sue, but I think they need to make her character more complex to be interesting. ( & I don’t mean only occasionally having her show her softer side with her sister) …well, I just realized " Glee" is like a Peanuts holiday special. The adults are pretty one-dimensional & the kids are more interesting- guess I am not who they make the show for.

Missed Sunday’s, but I too did not like the Chevy commercial last night. Not sure why.

I didn’t like the song Puck sang to the obese girl, I agreed with the character that it was demeaning. I get that they are identifying the outsiders in high school, the fat kid, the gay kid, the Jewish girl, the kid with Down’s, mentally challenged and physically challenged.

I understand that together the Glee Club is seen as the loser group but in reality they are all multi-talented and unique which makes them all winners, I get the message.

But I still found the song re the obese girl (large bottom) offensive.
I was also disappointed that Quinn and Finn are two-timing the new guy. Would have thought the character Quinn has learned better by now.

The singing is still good, I like the new tunes (Katy Perry’s) mixed with the old 70’s (last number). And the shock value of it all still lends a fresh approach. There’s always some surprise.

That was only for an episode in November, not all episodes.

They continue to sing for the Warblers. It is on their Facebook.

Yep, it was indeed the 'Bubs after the Superbowl and last night:

[The Bubs Sing More ‘Silly Love Songs’ Jumble](http://sites.tufts.edu/jumble/2011/02/08/the-bubs-sing-more-silly-love-songs/)

Okay, I shouldn’t have qualified that statement with “only”. It is not every episode, though.

Wait I’m confused. The boys that Kurt likes (Blaine?) doesn’t really sing? It sure sounds like his voice.

^^^I never watch Glee but I do know the answer to this. :D

The actor who plays Blaine, Darren Criss, DOES sing on the show. He has a BFA in musical theater. But it is the Tufts Beelzebubs who sing the back up a capella parts (not the main solo) for the Warblers. Darren (Blaine) truly sings the lead vocals.

~~signed a Tufts alum

Woahhh so the Warblers aren’t really singing?

If you want to see Darren Criss sing without autotune or any manufactured voices look him up on Youtube. He’s covered a lot of Disney songs and starred in A Very Potter Musical.

@natalie9494 - Nope they are just actors. The lovely a capella group from Tufts records everything and they lip synch it. That is how they do everything on Glee.

Omgsh that’s so weird! Hahaha wait but does Vocal Adrenaline actually sing?

I don’t know about Vocal Adrenaline. Their lead of course does because Groff starred opposite Lea Michelle on Broadway. I know that some of the dancers are from one of FOX’s shows so I can’t assume their singing ability.
