HisGraceFillsMe(I like your name),
I sure hope some are exaggerating, but I’m sure some are not. Two years ago,a mom was telling my mom about a party she had at her house. She allowed alcohol, but when kids got there the mom took their keys. My mom told her how she felt about it because that is wrong. The oldest kids there were 18! Last week, a kid at our school had to go to the ER because of being on drugs at school. That is not even the same kid I mentioned in my earlier post I think some parents don’t care, and I think others would be surprised at what’s going on. What bothers me deep down is that I worry about the ones I know that don’t even know they are going to have a future problem with this stuff. One other incident happened this past summer. Three kids did some heavy drinking and one ended up in the hospital with alcohol poisoning. My heart really does hurt for the ones I know. I wish I could stop them :(

I liked the overall message of last night’s episode and thought the acting & musical performances were great. Kurt’s Dad gave the best speech about sex I’ve heard on TV - or most other places. I only wish they had not made the celibacy club look so lame. If you’re gonna celebrate choices, then you should celebrate ALL choices.

Big Thumbs up! I’m not a raving fan of Paltrow but I really like her on this show.

I totally agree!!!

I agree, this week’s episode was great, and Kurt’s dad’s talk on sex was the best I’ve ever heard. I wanted to tell my kid to watch it, and he’s in college. (Also, I’m fairly sure that he’s already on board with it, but still…) Gwyneth was excellent.

I loved the scene where Brittany explained why she thought she was pregnant, and everyone’s jaw dropped. :)

Gwyneth Paltrow has had more solos on Glee this season than the entire cast!

Yes, I agree about Kurt’s dad’s speech, especially the line, “because you matter.” I must admit that I never knew “Landslide” was about homosexuality? I need to read the lyrics to figure that out.

I must admit that I never knew “Landslide” was about homosexuality? I need to read the lyrics to figure that out.

It isn’t . But I think why musicians don’t always talk about why they wrote certain lyrics is because they want the listener to be able to have their own interpretation.

I also think Gwyneth is great in Glee, I like her in some films, ( talented Mr Ripley) but this is a nice part for her.

I also liked the concept of Kurt being gay but chaste, pure and moral. Having a certain sexual orientation doesn’t mean you’re having sex.

That is very true- and being married & having kids doesn’t mean you are straight as countless preachers have illustrated.
( It also reminded me that I have never had the " sex" talk with youngest, as she all but puts her fingers in her ears and sings 'la, la, la." - Oh actually she did put her fingers in her ears-)

A few years back, when I told younger D what happens when guys are aroused, she laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed…

What Kurt’s dad said was really good, and I love Brittany!

emeraldkity4: Thanks for the quote from Stevie Nicks about the origin of Landslide. Interesting. If I had to pick a favorite pop/rock song from the last 30+ years, it would be Landslide.

I liked the talk Kurt’s dad had with him, and I like a lot of things about Glee. However, I am bothered by the overtly sexual nature of a lot of the choreography on the show. I have no trouble with honest discussions of sexuality, but the sexual nature of the dancing just bugs the heck out of me. Assemblies where the kids are shaking their stuff at a gym full of hormonal classmates while the teachers smile and nod is just dumb. The pieces the kids do for class & for competitions is ridiculous … far too sexual for me to feel comfortable watching … I almost feel like it’s “wrong” to watch that stuff. Yeah, I know it’s just a show. But I also know that when this sort of thing is put on the airwaves as being acceptable, mainstream stuff for teens, it creeps into real life. Back when I subbed, I had to leave the gym once during a pep rally because I couldn’t believe the dancing the poms team was doing. Truly, I am not a prude, but some things just seem to go too far in my mind.

I really liked the original songs tonight.

Yeah, I loved the Loser song, especially the ending!

“Just go ahead and hate on me and run your mouth -So everyone can hear
Hit me with the words you got and knock me down - Baby, I don’t care
Keep it up, I’m tunin’ up to fade you out
You wanna be - You wanna be
A loser like me”

Love Love love it!!

[‘Glee’ has lost its voice in all the chaos - USATODAY.com](<a href=“http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/reviews/2011-03-15-glee15_ST_N.htm]'Glee”>http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/reviews/2011-03-15-glee15_ST_N.htm)

This is the third article I’ve read in the past few weeks that has voiced similar sentiments. I think that Robert Bianco has a lot right in this column but the difference being that I’ve felt this way from the beginning.

I really liked last night’s episode precisely because it didn’t hammer home a big theme or social message. And as much as I think the adults are all very talented, I think the stories work better when they focus on the kids. And Sue Sylvester is hilarious but needs to be used sparingly, like last night.

^^^Yes, and it would be nice if they’d stop having Sue do things for which she would obviously be both fired and arrested. Physically attacking students and teachers? Ridiculous.

I thought last night’s episode was really spectacular and brought the show back to what makes it great - a focus on the students, the different ways in which they feel isolated and how that can be really beautifully expressed through music.

This is the first episode in a while where I haven’t disliked Rachel. On stage is where she really excels, and I’d much rather hear her sing than hear her pine over Finn.

The info we got about Quinn was also very interesting, imo. She’s smart and realizes that her life after high school is going to be just like everyone else’s around her, and that Prom Queen may very well be her shining moment. The fact that she’s really banking on a future with Finn in Ohio reveals a lot about her background and motives.

Also as a huge Kurt/Blaine shipper I was beyond thrilled to see them move forward in their relationship.

Character we need more of: Mercedes! At some point she just became that girl who belts out the last note of each song and stopped having any sort of personality. I want to see more of her friendship with Kurt.
