Eireann-
That’s funny!

His twitter cracks me up.

I actually liked vocals in the song, for the most part, but I thought the context was sort of odd. You had Mercedes and Sam and Finn and Rachel doing their romantic duets, and then Kurt serenading Blaine with a song about a rat named Ben – with Finn and Rachel joining in. And they didn’t cut lines like the “running to and fro” one, which just reminds me that it’s about a rat. And it’s such a serious scene. I’m actually very impressed that the actors got through it with straight faces.

It drives me crazy the way they edit the dance scenes. I would really like to see someone dance for more than a few seconds at a time.

Contrast that with the way they linger on Lea Michele during her solos.

And while I’m on the subject of Lea Michele: Too much exposure! She’s a great singer, but she’s way annoying, IMO. And she’s not so much better than everyone else that she deserves the lion’s share of solos. More Amber Riley!

That is all.

Oh, no, wait. Ricky Martin! Squee!!! Very excited.

My 16 year old knows Ben from a Broadway Kids tape we used to play all the time. But she had no idea it was about a rat.

I watch it with my 15yo daughter. MJ was big when I was her age. We also watched Glee Project. Sad to say we loved Damian on that show but he looks so awkward with all those other performers. Yes, he can sing, but even sitting or standing somewhere he sticks out.

I heard they’re graduating but not leaving the show. Not sure what that will mean, but I think it would be very brave to continue letting actors go - even amazing singers like Leah and bringing in new talent.

I think they didn’t show a lot of dancing because besides Mike and Brittany, no one else can really dance. Nevermind the fact that Finn can’t sing either.

Okay, then, more Mike and Brittany! They are both amazing performers.

They’ve confirmed that Lea, Chris, and Cory for sure aren’t leaving. They are graduating but not leaving. Amber, Mark, and Dianna probably are, and I have no idea what they’re doing with anybody else. Most of the new talent they’re bringing in hasn’t completely impressed me though. I’d much rather see those three in the choir room than characters like Rory and Sebastian (who is rumored to be becoming a regular next year).

They could be doing a split narrative or they could all be sticking around because Kurt and Rachel applied to ONE COLLEGE that accepts 20 applicants a year and Finn has no idea whatsoever what he’s doing.

Hey, now!! Don’t be hating on Damian McGinty!!! I am very disappointed that they have given him so little to do…I don’t think he looks out of place at all…just under-utilized. I cannot wait to see him do more.

I also hate the way they edit the dance scenes. The one in the garage…the “fight” scene with the warblers…for example. You really could not tell what was going on, but a “behind the scenes” video I saw about the making of the episode actually showed more of the dancing and it looked really great. Sigh.

Here is the youtube link to the video:

Yeah, I think I have a bit of a girl crush on Brittany. I love the way she moves…very aggressive.

Wow, Amber Riley just killed it with “I Will Always Love You”. That was beautiful! Whitney would have been proud.

What’s a little spooky about that is that the scene was done before Whitney’s death. It was just a coincidence that it ended up in that particular Glee episode, which was about Valentine’s Day. Amber Riley said she had just met Whitney Houston on Thursday night and had thanked Whitney for the song (although written by Dolly Parton) and hoped she would be proud of how it was done on Glee.

I think Amber actually got to meet Whitney and Whitney heard the song sometime in the past few weeks.

ETA: sevmom knew more than I did about that. Amber did a fabulous job.

I really enjoyed this episode. And, yes, Amber Riley NAILED that song. So powerful!

I just cannot imagine being able to sing like that. Such a gift!

wow…got goose bumps when Amber sang. She nailed it…just amazing.

I thought the new guy from Glee Project was interesting. But he is different looking, striking tho.

Yes, Amber did right by Whitney’s song.

Yes, absolutely freaky that Mercedes sang And I Will Always Love You.

I wish they wouldn’t have felt the need to pair everyone up. Finn and Rachel don’t feel right; Mercedes and blonde guy don’t feel right. Kurt and Blaine…not that much. Brittney and Santana…maybe. Mike and Tina are the only ones who seem like a good couple to me, because they are both quirky in kind of the same way.

Didn’t like the episode, but loved Amber’s singing. I didn’t care for Rachel’s Dads. Thought they seemed strange and kind of creepy (possibly because the guy who played in “The Fly” has always given me the creeps).

^^^^

And I LOVED Rachel’s dads. I thought they were exactly what Rachel’s dads would be like. I wish there had been a scene of just the 3 of them.

Kudos to Amber Riley…awesome!

Actually liked this episode for the first time in ages…

Would have loved to hear more of Brian Stoke Mitchell’s beautiful voice…maybe later in the season?

Just a question: do you’all live in areas of the country where kids get engaged in high school? Seems very ancient to me…even my college girls think it is “out there”
