I have to admit I was overwhelmed by all the “messages” being sent by Glee the other night. Bummed to have to wait until April to see the next episode.

I love Alex. I can’t wait for him to show up. I’ve had the feeling that the writers really didn’t know what to do with the Irish kid. Samuel, on the other hand, has presence.

LOL! When my husband or sons come in the room while D and I are watching “our shows,” we tell them, “Don’t say anything - just leave!!”

I like the Irish kid - he’s sweet. I figure IRL, he would feel out-of-place as an exchange student, so I don’t mind his awkwardness.

I LOVE “the irish kid”, Damian McGinty. And I have a feeling they are getting ready to kind of surprise us all with his character. Sort of lulling us into a false sense of his innocence and awkwardness…

With all the auto tune/overproduced vocals- unreal costuming & professional choreography, I think a little awkward is needed @ Mckinley high school.
I like the Irish kid.
The white guy with dreads- not so much.

I for one am kind of neutral about the Irish guy. He can sing but otherwise he is kind of bland. The dreads guy has potential.

The swim coach from the previous episode was great. I loved how she put Sue in her place.

As sad as it would be if Quinn did not return I think that would have the most impact on the characters as well as a strong message.

I recall watching Damian on PBS performing with Celtic Thunder!

Don’t get me wrong, I like Damien too. It’s just that I’ve been disappointed in how they’ve used him…or NOT used him, to be more accurate.

I think that Damian’s a good singer, but a terrible actor. And he’s talked openly about having no acting experience prior to Glee, about being in acting lessons non-stop between the end of the Glee Project and his first episode, and about how apparently all you have to do if you want to make it as an actor is to believe in yourself. I have nothing against the guy, but I don’t think a major network TV show is the place to learn to act.

I also don’t think his character’s all that innocent. Remember that he spent his first episode pretending to be a leprechaun to get Brittany to sleep with him.

I think they have been purposefully downplaying him and making him seem pretty quiet and innocent. But I think it will turn out he is pretty devious and that he lied about his visa extension being denied just to get Sugar to go out with him…

any way, we will see.

missypie, YES! There was an extra blonde girl too. Very, very strange!

^ Since that was a Troubletones number (Mr. Shue promised the girls that the Troubletones would have a number at Regionals) presumably they are part of the old Troubletones group.

Although we still watch Glee every week, I am pretty much over it. I don’t care about the characters at all and only watch for the occasional great number. (Loved Brittany’s Dinosaur song and dance last night.)

I have the feeling that everyone is pretty much where I am, given that the last post on this thread was 2 1/2 months ago.

Recommendations? I personally think they should end it on purpose next year (rather than wait until they’re cancelled) and have Mr. Shue decide to give Broadway one more try…that would give him lots of song and dance opportunites, and the series could end with him making it on Broadway in *South Pacific *or Hairspray or some other show that MM has done.

Did the teaser for next week actually give us a glimpse of Quinn dancing? Until now, I could enjoy the quirky Glee fiction/fantasy. But, scripting Quinn to dance already just strikes me as a little cruel to real spinal cord patients.

I did like last week’s domestic violence storyline. Sad, but a real-world topic that doesn’t get a lot of visibility among high schoolers.

I totally agree…I was thinking, “okay, she can walk but are they really going to have her dance so soon?” I am hoping that she stands still or sits at competition, then is part of the dancing in a fantasy sequence. (remember Artie in the Safety Dance? Such a great number!)

Nope not over it, still enjoying it immensely. I dont delve too deeply into the show and its my mindless entertainment. Found myself dancing along to several of the numbers, enjoyed Rachels version of “Big Girls Dont Cry”. Blaine looked cute, very retro with his hair “natural”.

missypie +1. (I spent part of the show looking up the Dinosaur song, since I’m not thoroughly familiar with Ke$ha.)

D/B: Quinn’s paralysis was revealed as a fraud this week. I wasn’t paying close attention, so I don’t know whether it was always a fraud or she just disguised the fact that her physical therapy had worked. This is an example of the sort of plot line that has led me to my current indifference towards the show.

They always have ridiculous plot lines, but I love to watch the talent. Occasionally, they treat important issues with respect and a sense of humor. Puck and the developmentally disabled student (name?) walking into the dance as anti-prom king and queen was one of these wonderful moments.

I think the dominant theme of glee is anti- bullying which continues to be vital. Finn’s denunciation if Quinn is a case in point. I think it was a mistake to make Rachel prom Queen. Kind of defeats the point, though Puck with Becky was charming. Agree about Quinn’s dancing, but I already felt that way about Artie’s dancing. I don’t think Ryan Murlhy is the most subtle, nuanced guy in the world, though he did have significant points to make.

Wasn’t there always talk of a spinoff with Finn, Rachel and Kurt? I liked the idea of getting new castmembers, etc. and love the people who won guest spots from the Glee competition last year.

Truthfully the whole college thing has been driving me nuts. What student in their right mind would apply to only one audition school? Who gets a full-ride to a school without an application? How has nobody talked about money on this show? I love the show despite the flaws, but it wouldn’t hurt them to be a bit more realistic when showing hs kids the reality of the application process.
( I feel the same way with most he schows and college as well, though).
