Watch "Glee"

The only problem with that is that Mercedes isn’t an adult. She’s one of my favorite characters, but she’s capable of making poor decisions like everyone else.

I like Kurt, but his crush on Finn was painfully awkward to watch.

apparently this happens more often than we might have thought. from today’s NYTimes Magazine: “Who Knew I Was Not The Father?” http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/22/magazine/22Paternity-t.html?_r=1&ref=magazine

Over the last few episodes I was impressed that:

The show did a fantastic job of showing a father dealing with having a gay son - and how the gay son reacts to his dad and all those expectations. The photography was excellent, focusing on the similarities of the actors’ eyes so you felt their bond. It’s quite a statement that Kurt’s father is one of the few sensible adults and the first sensible parent represented (until we meet Finn’s mom).

They did a great job of conveying the difficulties of living in a wheelchair. With humor. This show manages to get deeper into real issues than heavier dramas.

Anyone want to comment on last night’s episode?

I didn’t care for the first song (the duet between Rachel & Finn), IMHO it was one of the weaker musical numbers, but the show redeemed itself with the “Jump” mattress commercial. If all commercials were that entertaining, I would actually watch them.

I was wondering when Terri would get “busted” with the fake pregnancy.

Overall, not my favorite episode, but OK.

Bad news is there is only one more until the series goes on hiatus until April. I knew there would be a break, but that’s long…

April? I thought it was just a holiday break – boo.

As far as episodes go, I hated almost every song, Jump was okay and I liked Smile. It also was a twist from the very inspiring and uplifting last couple episodes.

I think it showed a huge acting range for Will, his emotions on both side of the spectrum, both angry and sad, were very believable.

I don’t care so much for the Glee plotlines, so I wasn’t much interested in seeing “Will” act if it didn’t lead to a musical number. Jump was cute, Smile made no sense whatsoever and really highlighted the voice-quality gap between Lea Michele and Cute Boy.

I thought the pacing of the show was intentionally set slower because the episode revolved around the very real confrontation between Will and his faking pregnant wife. That played as straight, intense drama and was placed right after the totally insane Jump mattress commercial. I read the show creator directed the confrontation scene himself.

When you have an ensemble show, you have to manage many story lines. We’ve seen Quinn change from utterly unsympathetic to perhaps the most emotionally resonant character - and remember that she turned on Sue in this episode. We’ve seen sides of Sue that vary wildly, from pure evil to those whacked-out commentaries to feeling rejected in love to reading a story to her Down’s Syndrome older sister. We’ve watched Will’s wife go from ridiculously plastic asst. store manager to a woman torn by fear and her own deceptions. That’s a lot of ground. Not every week can go at breakneck speed.

The scene where Will confronted his wife in the kitchen was amazingly riveting…but it felt so odd, because the emotions on the show are often cartoonish…we’ve had genuinely touching before (Curt and his dad) but I don’t think we’ve had genuine scary anger before. (When Mr. Shu and Sue threaten each other, you know they aren’t going to hit each other. But when he confronted his wife, I wasn’t so sure…)

Seeing the scene with Will and his wife in the kitchen made me want more dramatic moments and less staged songs that do nothing to develop the plot line. I watched the show on-line this morning and wandered over here during that first boring song between Rachel and Finn.

We saw the revival of *South Pacific *in NY but after Matthew Morrison had left the cast as Lt. Cable. After that scene my D’s said they could *totally *see him as Lt. Cable.

I agree with JHS 100%.

I’m still wondering where this leaves Quinn’s baby. If Terri and Schue do split and no longer want the baby, and Finn finds out the truth next week, as the promos seem to indicate, then she could well be left out in the cold.

On a purely CC note, I thought it was hilariously authentic that Emma’s office had the Fiske Guide, Blue Book of SATs, the PR ACT book, and others.

Mr. Shu told GC he was not divorcing his wife, yet GC is skipping her wedding (?) to go to sectionals. If Shu stays with his wife, maybe they’ll take Quinn’s baby…but they’ve spent so much time making the wife unlikeable that it would be terrible for her to raise the baby. If it picks up in April, will that much time have passed…such that Quinn will deliver soon?

I was so glad the fake pregnancy was finally revealed. Nice to see Quinn show some moxie and stand up to/blackmail Sue.
Liked the Jump number on the mattresses.
Can’t believe we have to wait until April.
Anybody think it has anything to do with American Idol starting on Fox in Jan.?
I’m betting Quinn will still be in same stage of preg, when the show resumes.

If she is, then these “kids” are going to be 30 years old IRL by the time she delivers!

Yes, both Glee and Fringe are going on hiatus to make room for American Idol…yuch, I say…and that’s from someone who actually has watched AI

How do we know GC is skipping her wedding and going to sectionals instead?

^^^

The previews sort of insinuated that.

Yes, it appeared to show the GC at the sectionals in her wedding dress.

When Will got DQd, the GC said she’d be there…he said “but it’s your wedding day” but she said she’d be there anyway. Maybe she’ll get married then rush to sectionals, who knows…

Oh. I watch online, and I haven’t found a spot to see previews online.
