Just thought I’d show some love for the Dallas Mavericks. Great series of games. My first allegiance is to the Spurs, but I’m loving Dirk Nowitzki this series.

He’s a real warrior…played with a 101 fever and would not let them lose…

Dirk is one of the most amazing big men in the league, and has been for a long time. The Mavs are my second-favorite team (the Kings didn’t quite make it this year :p).

Go Dallas!

Love Dirk Nowitzki, but was not happy with J. Kidd’s antics that pushed his trade to Dallas. So I hadn’t been in the Mavs cheering section until this series. When it came to a choice between that or the Lebron spectacle from last summer, the Mavs have my vote. Go Dirk!

I sense a theme and a new slogan:

Dallas Mavericks, America’s Second-Favorite Team.

Actually, as much as I love the Spurs the only NBA games I’ve been to were in Dallas, and that was long ago. Not sure they can steal another in Miami to take the series, but they’ve made it interesting, at least. Hoping Dirk got an IV and is feeling better today.

Yea, Mavs! We are so rooting for them. I agree, America’s Second Favorite Team!

Great post-game analysis by Magic last night regarding Mavs team play vs. Heat relying on their big 3 to create. It’s been a real changing of the guard in the NBA this year with the Lakers, Celtics and Spurs aging and teams like OKC and Memphis on the rise. Barring injuries the Heat should be great for many years to come. I don’t think they’ll equal in Pippen-Jordan Bulls 6 titles.

Mark Cuban is too much of showboat for me to ever love the Mavs, but I hate Miami since they are loaded with nothing but showboats. So the Mavs are my new best friends.

I wouldn’t mind a showboating owner with a lot of money to buy my baseball team…please!

And yeah, we are in the anyone-but-Miami cheering section in our house.

Mark Cuban is really pretty cool.

“played with a 101 fever and would not let them lose”

I’ll never forget this night: [NBA Finals 1997 - Michael Jordan score 38 pts at Utah Jazz | Michael Jordan 23: His Airness](http://www.michael-jordan.it/1/nba_finals_1997_michael_jordan_score_38_pts_at_utah_jazz_38612.html)

Cuban has been pretty quiet this series. garland I would also like him to own my team.

I’m a big Dirk fan - he’s the best outside shooter on the planet and he’s seven feet tall - gotta love it! I’m pulling for the Mavs to win this one because I think it’s likely to be their last chance for a while, but I’m not feeling it. Despite being tied at two games apiece, the series feels lopsided. The Mavs have only won because the Heat stopped playing seven minutes early in game two and LeBron mailed it in in game four. I don’t see either of those things happening again, so I don’t see the Mavs winning again. I hope I’m wrong. :(

I fear that the Mavs are the second best team…but who knows, they may pull it off.

Tom–which is your team? We’d like Cubanto buy the Mets–their owner has to be, hands down, the stupidest in baseball.

The Kings need new ownership IMO. We’ll take Cubes!

Let’s hope the Mavs can pull it off tonight!

A Dallasite here, lovin’ my Mavs! This has been the most intense roller-coaster of a series - it’s almost not any fun for me to watch! Too nerve-racking!!

garland- I was eleven in 1969. I think you can guess which team is my team.

The thing I like most about the Mavs is that they are high character guys…all very active in the community and not your typical NBA thugs…a very likeable group of guys.

Let’s Go Mavs…!!!
