Way to go, Mavs!

That’s why I like the Spurs.

Awesome! Mavs are baus.

Woot woot!!! Let’s hope they bring it in Miami!

Yes!! Go Mavs!

What a game…WOW…just one more…

Nowitski is a beast.

I feel ya! I watched the 2002 WCF peeking from behind my hands. I couldn’t stand to watch, and I couldn’t stand not to watch.

Yeah Mavs–one more!

Tom–yeah. Sigh.

Great job, Mavs!

Mark Cuban lived in my neighborhood in Dallas. Well, on my LONG runs I could run by Mark Cuban’s house- or, shall we say, his compound. And he and I have the IU connection. We’re tight. I’m glad the Mavs are winning. One more…

Momentum is with us, but I sure don’t want this to go to a game 7. I hope we can wrap it up Sunday.

And I didn’t really know Jason Terry before this, but his post-game interview cracked me up. And his headband makes him look like a Tootsie Pop. New favorite player.

I’m liking the Mavs more every day. I’d LOVE to see them close out Miami.

No team in the NBA needs a new owner more than the Clippers do. I’d settle for almost anybody over current owner Donald Sterling - anybody that is except Dodgers owners and scandal mongers Frank and Jamie McCourt. Does Mark Cuban aspire to own a baseball team by any chance?

^^^I think Cuban at one point was thinking of purchasing the Cubs.

Miami might be a stronger team but Mavs has a good shot at winning. They won 1 at Miami and they can win again.

coureur–as I mentioned upthread, we Mets fans would love Cuban to buy our team. Wilpon could give the McCourts a run for their money for stupidity and incompetence.

“thugs” is that a code word for something else?

Among other things, these players continue to support groups and communities:

Lebron has donated more than $2.5 million to Boys and Girls Club and 1000 computers to Akron Public Schools. Plus I have never heard of Lebron in any type of altercation.

Mike Miller donated $1 million to Sanford Children’s Hospital

Wade has donated money and time in hometown Chicago and South Florida

Haslem has donated time and money to schools in Jamaica

coureur, at least your owner didn’t spend the last year trying to move your team out of town. But I gotta agree, Sterling is horrible, possibly the second-worst owner in major league sports. No one is worse than Al Davis.

I can’t say I really understand the business of the NBA and why anyone would want to own a team. The salaries paid to players are excessive by any measure. The arenas do not hold that many fans and they are often unfilled during the regular season. Yes, they play more games during the season than the NFL and their equipment costs, etc. are significantly lower, but I will don’t see how they make enough profit for anyone to want to own a team.

Are most teams profitable?

I was pretty shocked at just how poor Nowitzski’s defense was in the 4th quarter (and how the so-called experts didn’t say a word.) Haslam had lay-up after lay-up, the others dunking with him just standing there. Had the Heat just kept going to what worked (instead of looking to Wade and James), I think there would have been a different result.

I wish he had. LA does not want or need the Clippers. Donald Sterling should move the team to a town that doesn’t already have an NBA team - back to San Diego if nothing else. But what town would want them? Year in and year out they are sorriest team in the NBA thanks to Sterling’s inept leadership.
