<p>OMG, city planners are predicting that 250,000 people will show up for the parade. I was feeling all smug that I could watch it from my office window…until I realized that I will have to leave my house by about 6 am to beat the pre-parade traffic. I actually think that you couldn’t cram 250,000 people (and their maybe 125,000 cars) dowtown if you started right now. </p>
<p>I was on maternity leave during the parade when the Cowboys won the Super Bowl that turned into riots. I don’t remember the parade when the Stars won the Stanley Cup.</p>
<p>I guess I’ll just arrive early, bring supplies, and watch the scene evolve from 45 stories up.</p>
<p>(I do wish that we could just stay home and auction our parking spaces.)</p>
<p>No wonder people get upset. I can see the parade route. The police aren’t letting folks cross the street, so there are folks 20 deep on one side of the street and 1-2 deep on the other. But peaceful so far (probably way too hot for mayhem.)</p>
<p>And the porta potties are all on the side of the road that folks can’t get to.</p>
<p>Recorded the parade and just watched it. I loved hearing Dirk sing “We are the Champions”. So happy for the Mavs. I’ve been a fan for a long while. I’m not ready to hear all the talk of a repeat, just want to enjoy the moment. Also loved the story about Jason Terry and the bathrobe Cuban gave him to replace the old one he wore to meetings.</p>
<p>Rented a DVD on the Mavs’ winning season. Very enjoyable, but about halfway through, I thought “Ok, is it just me, or does Rick Carlisle look like Jim Carrey?”</p>
