We are thinking of all of you because of the Tech situation

Knowing how many of you have close friends in Blacksburg, please accept my condolences and know that many of us are thinking of you.

Holy crap… this is shocking.

I’m so sad for VT. To think I just drove by there 2 days ago. The situation is even crazier knowing that there was another shooting at Tech back in August.

This is a horrible and tragic incident that will likely have a lasting effect on a wonderful school. I look forward to seeing how the UVA community reaches out in response to this. For those of you who are interested, the Student Council general body meetings are on tuesdays at 6:00pm. Here’s the website, which has more information:

Student Council won’t have a huge reaction to this; the administrators of the university are the ones likely to respond to the shootings.

Student council has already organized a vigil tomorrow evening at 7pm in the amphitheater.

Also, President Casteen has posted a statement on UVA’s home page:

I was on campus today for the admitted students visit, and everywhere I went, I found people on cell phones and laptops talking to friends at VT. It was extremely disconcerting.
