Since the value of the dollar continues to decline againts the major currencies, does it mean the college education in the US is going to be more affordable for international students? Does it also mean a decline in financial aid offers especially merit aid?

Merit aid won’t decline because it is based on merit and not need.

“More affordable” is a relative term. If my family could have afforded to pay $30K two years ago and that’s now 37K, yep, the US would have become more affordable. But most students are not faced with that situation. For them it might be 3K vs 4K which really makes not that much of a difference.

On the other hand, who knows if the dollar will continue to decline in value or might start rising again in the next few years… Planning ahead based on the current exchange rate might be risky.
