Hello,
I am from England, applying to Webster University in St Louis for the Master in Educational Technology degree!
The requirements for this course are 2 letters of recommendations, a 2.5 undergraduate GPA, no GRE required, 1 essay (why this course) and a statement of purpose.
I graduated in 2014, and have since worked a couple of jobs, most recently in education, plus I’ve volunteered in education too. I have a 3.33 GPA from my Undergraduate degree in England. My 2 letters will come from two professors at my undergrad, who I regular volunteered to help with research/studies with and was a course representative, so they can speak for my character and aptitude for university study (which is what Webster state is expected in the letters!). I will write an essay myself and get it read over by someone I know studying a PhD in SLU, so she can make notes and recommend changes for me. I will also work on my statement of purpose.
The course here seems perfect for me, especially with the elective classes I can choose from to choose my path in this degree! Also, the small classes Webster seem to have work best for me due to being hard of hearing (bilateral sensorineural hearing loss), so it’ll be easier for me to participate and follow classes. Should I mention this about myself in my statement of purpose? Alongside this is the cost too, it’s cheap compared to many universities! My grandparents will be loaning me the money for my studies, so I have no problems proving the financial side of things.
Based on my information and their requirements for admissions, do I stand a good chance of acceptance? I really do want to attend Webster and do this course!
