I am looking for my wedding shoes and have been striking out everywhere I look, so I am hoping the fabulous shoppers of CC will have some ideas. I have to schedule my fittings!

What I am looking for…

Flat or less than half inch heel-- the kind of heel that is really basically a flat. I have medical issues and heels hurt too much, even little kitten heels. This is proving to be the limiting factor.

I really want gold shoes, but ivory might do in a pinch. My dress is gold with an ivory lace overlay, so I can’t do white.

I really want sandals.

Preferred budget $40-$60, could go up to $100 for the perfect shoe but no higher.

I have tried Macy’s, JC Penney, Kohls, DSW, Payless, Sears, Nordstrom, and Zappos.

Size 10

Here is what I HAVE found…

I was considering maybe these but I’m sad they’re not gold: http://www.bellissimabridalshoes.com/Ivory-Pink-Heaven-Bridal-Shoes-Prodview.html I have to see them in person to see if I even like them.

http://www.sears.com/basic-editions-women-s-sandal-baria-wide-width-gold/p-035VA57255412P?prdNo=2&blockNo=2&blockType=G2 These might be an option but they didn’t have them in store so I still have to order them to try them on and see if that heel is flat enough. I don’t love them but they’re basically the style I want so they could do.

http://www.dsw.com/shoe/unisa+loula+wedge+sandal?prodId=297164&activeCats=cat10006,cat20034,dsw12cat750002 These were almost perfect, the detail looks like it was made to match my dress with the crystals and pearls, but they HURT! Which is why I am ruling out shoes that go between the toes. Walking around the store in them for a few minutes basically crippled me.

http://www.jcpenney.com/liz-claiborne-nina-sandals/prod.jump?ppId=pp5003630397&catId=cat100250193&deptId=dept20000018&Nao=48&pN=3&colorizedImg=DP1230201317015768M.tif I liked these but mom thinks the buckle on the top makes them too casual… I am not sure.

Any other ideas or store suggestions?

Ema, you might want to research Taryn Rose shoes. The brand was started by a podiatrist. Something like this, but with a heel strap?

<a href=“No results for Taryn rose ivory sand patent | 6pm”>http://www.6pm.com/taryn-rose-ivory-sand-patent

Anyi Lu is another brand worth checking out. Anyi is a chemical engineer who was invited to a wedding and had a horrible time finding comfortable, pretty looking shoes, so she started her own shoe brand. Or so the legend goes. :)

How long is your dress, Ema? If it’s floor length, be sure to check the shoes to make sure there is nothing sharp that will snag the hem of the dress. Sometimes these ones with the bling can be a snag nightmare.

Try Zappos, free delivery and free return. They have Steve Madden Greenie, $59.95, Schutz Alexia $109, Eco Odonse T-strap $90.99. These are flat, gold, nothing between the toe. Bandolino makes the Aftershoe Gladiator for $69 at Lord and Taylor. Lands End has Naomi Flat T $49.00 and DSW has a 9West Faycre Satin ballet with clear stones &69.95

Sylvan makes a great point. If you dress is floor-length and made of delicate fabric, like silk chiffon, even a small buckle can constantly snag on the fabric ruining it. You will be better off in a plain flat (but choose a flat with a slight heel rise, about 1/2-1 inch, because completely flat soles can damage the feet just as badly as high heels).

Are you a largish 10? These are wonderful sandals- I wore them to my son’s wedding last August.
They are on sale, but still might be too high for your budget. I will say that I’ve found a lot of places to wear them after the wedding, and the quality is great. They will last for years.

<a href=“Kate spade new york violet gold specchio | 6pm”>http://www.6pm.com/kate-spade-new-york-violet-gold-specchio

I just came from from shoe shopping at Lord and Taylor. There are lots of shoes that would fit your needs and they are having a large sale. You would likely have to pay for shipping. In addition to looking at Zappo’s, you can also look at Piperlime.com and Nordstrom.com as both have free shipping and usually there is a sale section.

I think the Sear’s sandals are pretty, but at that price I would worry that they won’t be comfortable.

http://www.saltwater-sandals.com/catalog.html#saltwater-sandals

These might do the trick…they come in many colors. The “original” looks similar to the Sears show. They are very well made at a reasonable price. They are available through retail and on-line so you can shop the price. I own the Saltwater original in silver and love it!

I really like the last Amazon link.

I second Sylvan…I wore gorgeous gold shoes that I found (they were worn once, so I paid much less than the $300 new price) and they were perfect. Matched beautifully, looked gorgeous. Killed my feet and ripped the hem of my skirt. So be careful with a long dress! I was the mother of the bride, and I had my daughter, who has rheumatoid arthritis, wear her shoes around for a couple of days before the wedding. I should have taken my own advice.
