"Week" of May 26-31 - What Are You Looking Forward To?

The part for the oven arrived today so I’m looking forward to using the oven again. Fingers crossed.

Nice!

I got to cancel my next car payment scheduled for 6/4 as the final two payments on old lease cancelled with pull ahead program, plus no disposition fee. I was originally planning on getting new car in April, but with all the Covid stuff I didn’t feel like doing it then. Just didn’t know it wouldn’t require going into dealership. In hindsight I should have called and done it then, as it would have saved me another $500. But not going to dwell on that.

Great thread!

  1. Fiendishly trying to finish a book club book (a bit of a slog, alas)
  2. Club meeting (via Zoom) Wednesday night
  3. If weather cooperates a day trip to the mountains on Thursday or Friday

Well, I actually started this last week, but this week am continuing to enjoy telling clients and referral sources that I am retiring!!! Wahoo!! Its a wind down over the next few months, but there is a cutoff date. I was thinking about this anyway, but COVID and the ramifications hastened the decision. So this week the final calls to clients will be made in advance of my sending out the letters.

OK that’s only one thing, but its a big one!

Congrats, @jym626 ! that sure is a big one! Enjoy your new time!

Congrats @jym626!

I’ve been so busy with what I was looking forward to when this thread was started, that I missed seeing it until today.

I’ve looked forward to tending my flower beds. I’ve been retired for 9 years, and still couldn’t find the time to take care of them the way they should be. But now that we don’t leave the house for anything except curbside pickup, I am hyper focused on my flowers. New project this year was to plant 200 annuals. I’ve never done annuals on a large scale before, because they are so much work. But now that I have all the time in the world, I’m looking forward to the work paying off by providing me with vibrant colors in July through fall, a time when my perennials are not as colorful.

In the future, I’m looking forward to arranging beautiful bouquets to be enjoyed indoors.

I’m tailgating for ice cream either Thursday or Friday…maybe both.

Continuing to plant flowers around our house. It’s nice to look at.

It’s supposed to be pretty hot, so I will walk to the lake which is at the corner. One day DH and I will pack a picnic and eat there.

Over the weekend, we will order carry out. The Asian place we really love just reopened. We probably will get dinner from there.

I’m loving this nicer weather!

Finally ordered a portable air conditioner and it should arrive this week. Between climate change and my age, San francisco can get quite hot. No more summers without sleep for me!

Holding my favorite girls zoom happy hour all in pigtails this week. We are usually a pretty serious bunch, but the insanity of the times has made us downright silly! IMHO laughter is the medicine that keeps us sane right now.
