Snowflake- yes it is!!! This is how I felt mid Feb. Keep going!

Weighing in: 29.3 pounds lost since Jan 7
My goal was 30 pounds by the end of the year. Thinking I will reach the magic 30 by end of next week. This weekend will be tough, friends graduation and then a couple of days at the lake.

Now, I am wondering what to do. I am really feeling good and I don’t think I am ready to stop. Still have the belly fat. I think I may set another 5 pound goal for mid Sept. The summer is going to be hard. I am sure I will gain some weight on my 2 weeks home to Scotland end of June. Wait- can I still say home ? I became a US citizen yesterday after 17 years in the US : )

I’m hoping the weigh in tomorrow will be the one that sends me off the plateau I’ve been on for the past couple of weeks. Just to help out, I better go bike riding today, LOL.

But I have the belly fat issue (and the beginning of bingo arms). Maybe after the last of the weight goal has been lost, I can move on to body sculpting, LOL…

I have gotten back to my pre-graduation weight (despite a buffet dinner out at a fundraiser last night) but am stress eating today because a friend is ill. I’ve already eaten 2/3 of my daily allowed calories. My physical is tomorrow. Hope its a decent weigh in. I’ll dress light :)

Fellow WLFDers, I have fallen off the plateau and now am 1 pound away from target weight. I never thought I’d get this far!!! It’s taken about a year to lose 80 pounds.

This is such GREAT news!!! You must feel like a totally new human being! I’m going to go back and read your posts to review how you did it! You’re such an inspiration!

I have been reading all your posts regularly the last 3 months and you all are my inspiration.

I have lost 16 lbs since January. I have been working out at the gym 45 minutes a day and have cut out carb (rice, pasta, bread & potato). My goal is lose another 8 - 10 lbs.

Good news is, my triglyceride level has come down from 249 a year ago to 89 with the exercise and diet.

Coming out of ‘lurker-dom’ to say congratulations to ellemenope!!! What a wonderful accomplishment! That is true dedication and willpower…really amazing! :)

Elle - Did you begin this weight loss before the WLFD thread? You say one year. I see this thread was started in June of 2011. I’m still so amazed for you.

Alumother, I started thinking that I needed to lose weight (someday) when my brother was diagnosed with diabetes in late May. When this thread popped up in June, I jumped on board…weighed myself for the first time on June 10, 2011. Came up with the plan that ended up working for me on June 24, when I went to visit my brother.

And with luck, that last pesky pound will come off by June 24, 2012!

CC is AWESOME (as the kids would say)! I have read articles about weight loss recently that say that the most successful people have a support groups that work together to lose weight…for example, a church where the congregation worked together to see how many pounds it could lose was very successful.

I wonder how many pounds this thread has lost since it’s started.

I’ll start it and just add your pounds to the running total:

PS: Coureur is my hubby…not some weird internet lurker. (Although he may be a weird internet lurker also…)

Bungalowdweller, I basically use the Livestrong MyPlate function to track my calories throughout the day. It’s been a big piece of the solution for me and I can thank WLFD for introducing it to me. My problems have always been with portion control and poor food choices and keeping track of what I eat helps with that.

I set the calorie goal to lose 2 pounds a week (so MyPlate gives me a daily calorie allowance), I weigh my food with a little scale (well, I don’t weigh salad fixings and most veggies that you’d only eat because your mother made you), and I track my fitness activities by time (MyPlate will translate your activity into calories).

By having to watch calories, I look at food items in a much different light and make better choices. It’s also cut down the snacking problem I have. Also, seeing that I might go over my calorie count for the day is a great motivator for me to go out and do my walk, or go bicycling, etc.

What I learned is that you have to come up with your own plan that works for you–so take what people have done here on this thread and change it to fit your needs.
