Weirdest assignment you ever did...

Oh! My school does something like that! Only it’s Algebra 2 and you just need to draw a picture.
I think I’m doing that this term- I’d better come up with something QUICK…
In seventh grade, in my Hebrew language class, we each showed the class how to make a type of salad- entirely in Hebrew. Then we had a salad bar.
After a few days, salad was coming out of our EARS…

I had a project that was a research thing on an aspect of US History and over 60% of our grade was based on if the formatting (margins, exactly one page, name on back) was done correctly. Not that weird, just stupid.

Pet peeve: teachers who can’t teach or think of actual challenging assignments but make their class impossible with a ton of useless nitpicking.

pretend to be a news anchor for a presentation in my AP Gov class.

Hmmm well in Grade 6 we had a French project that was making a cooking show video…we got bonus marks if we posted it Youtube and got above 100 views or something…
And then last year, my geography class was full of random projects…first we had a project where we had to draw a poster representing a national park, then we a project where we had to do research on our neighbourhood, and go around conducting interviews. We also had a project where we had to make a video that related to going green (not sure how this is related to geo, but anyway), and then, our summative was to plan out a 30 day road trip across the country, visiting areas related to what we learned during the year (plan out, as in figure out the roads to take, the hotels to stay in, where to go…).

All of yours pale in comparison to mine.

My assignment in Physics class last year was to write a paper… “on either Bodybugg or INSANITY or P90X.” WHAT? WHY DO WE HAVE TO WRITE AN ESSAY ON A WORKOUT PROGRAM— IN PHYSICS CLASS?
We came to the conclusion that our teacher just wanted some advice on which program to use.

We spent half of 8th grade English reenacting every single scene of The Tempest in playmobil (or lego) figures. Every detail ahd to be right, then a picture was taken of the scene and the words added into a movie. There was no point in it at all.
There’s a yearly biology competition to see who can make the highest tower constructed solely from spaghetti and sellotape. No idea what it has to do with biology.

In fifth grade, when we were learning about courts and lawyers etc. we did a mock trial about Goldilocks and the 3 bears. 4 of us were lawyers, one played Goldilocks, 3 played the bears, some were witnesses, and the rest of my class was the jury. I played one of the lawyers defending Goldilocks.
