Thank you for giving us the update. Blessings to you and your family. Keeping you in my prayers!

Very good news, indeed. I will add my prayers for your family.

Glad everything is going well. Thanks for the update.

It is amazing how having a child can change things, habits and perspectives. I hope this will be a positive turning point in her life. Congratulations!

yeah!!!

cromette - my sister is in the same situation as you. Her 21 year-old D1 had a baby in early January. She’s doing better (my sister) but still hasn’t told many people because of her ambivalence about the situation. Still, she sees her daughter and granddaughter at least once a week and of course the baby is beautiful and quite lovable.

Her daughter is living with the baby’s father in his mother’s apartment and things are not too happy there but they have made their decisions and now have to live with them. I think my niece had romanticized having a baby, and also felt like her life had no direction and this was an easy and loving thing to focus on. Now comes the hard part!

Love your daughter, enjoy and love that beautiful grand baby, but protect yourself too. Hopefully, time will make all of this easier.

Fingers crossed for continued good news! Hang in there!

Congratulations, fingers crossed, and enjoy the little one.

I’m jealous!!! : ) congratulations!

Congratulations, Grandma!

Thanks everyone! Actually, hubby and I have just put a little geographical distance between D1 and ourselves. I am still very available by phone and talk to her every day, and see them all a couple of times a month, but the distance helps to ensure that I don’t become that “harness” that I didn’t want to be, and also pushes them to be more self-sufficient.

We got a wonderful deal on a home closer to where I work.

They are doing pretty well. She just went back to her old job, got a management position and scored a raise. She’s pretty stoked. She has a lot of room to do very well. It won’t be easy, but it is definitely doable. Praying for them all every day, and just remaining encouraging through all the joys and pains of colic, juggling job and babysitters, watching all the “firsts”, etc.

Congratulations. A lot of times things don’t happen they way we have planned at all. We enjoy the joys as they come, and I have to say, I’m feeling a bit green for you grandma status. Prayers and hope for this new family and this new little one, and for you too!
