Ohh! I guess I’ll have to wait then Cz I haven’t heard from them
Why do you think they will take the same number as last year, notwithstanding the pandemic? Have you heard that from the college? Most other colleges are reaching deeper into their wait lists.
@wellycat that would be wonderful
It’s just my guess. Wellesley is rich enough to meet student’s financial needs. So I think its tuition is affordable comparing to other institutions considering financial aid. In addition, it didn’t rush to admit students from wl this year. Many universities started to admit students earlier than before but Wellesley didn’t.
Does anyone know when people stopped getting off the waitlist last year? The lack of movement from the waitlist is making me feel like they’re pretty much done.
@ZoCal samee but I want to get in so bad! I hope they’re not done
@ZoCal didn’t they say they’ll finalise the waitlist before 1st August?
Typically they will make an offer, give the person a limited amount of time to accept (ours was 3 days), and then if the person turned it down, will move on to another applicant. I’m not sure how many people at a time they are working with, but first they have to make contact with the applicant, which could take some time, and make the offer, then wait for the response, so the process is slow. If I recall (our experience was a long time ago) she received a call with the offer on a Monday, then we had to wait a day for the financial aid package. My daughter accepted it before the deadline, but she had until Thursday to make a decision.
Wellesley is hitting its alums hard saying they are experiencing an unprecedented financial impact and need financial support. Also, colleges with equally well funded endowments (Ivy Leagues) have reached into their wait lists for some time already.
@WellyCat I’m not certain if I understand your comment. Do your comments mean that you think they are done with waitlists ?
I just heard that they are done with the waitlist.
y’all just got off waitlist today sharing update so you don’t lose hope!
hilohawaii, did you get a phone call first or an email? Just curious on how it works. Thanks!
@WellyCat are u sure Cz @hilohawaii got off the waitlist today
I really hope I am wrong, but I heard it from a good source.
Ohh! I really want to get in, I hope they’re not done!
Will they tell us if they don’t take us off the waitlist? If so, when?
Did anyone get off the waitlist recently?
Anyone^? I’m sorry for posting so much. I’m just super worried and hoping they are not done.
@Amnaashfaq02, it is ok bc I am anxious for my d as well. The FAQ on Wellesley website states that waitlist activities will conclude sometime before August 1st AND this is only June 24th. Looking at a link for the Class of 2023 Waitlist Notification Dates, the deadline date posted was June 30, 2019 AND the for the Class of 2024 Notification Dates, the deadline date posted is August 1, 2020. This is from the College Kickstart Website. So praying still!
