My amazing girl was accepted!
I want to ask, would it be weird to commit to Wellesley College over Georgetown U? She seems to be getting some peer pressure that GU is the definate school. Personally I love WC.

She should go where she feels she fits best. As far as I’m concerned Wellesley is right up there with the Ivies. (Perhaps the only exception is if she really wants to go into politics - then GU might make more sense -but plenty of women have gone into politics from Wellesley!!)

While talking about colleges, a friend of mine in Boston said, a bit tongue in cheek, “Wellesley makes senators.” I thought it was a pretty funny, but maybe somewhat apt, statement.

A million years ago, I chose a SLAC (not as well-known as Wellesley) over Columbia and Johns Hopkins. I had a wonderful experience and never regretted my decision.

The kids tend to favor bigger schools with bigger brand names. Full stop. It certainly doesn’t mean that GU is better than WC.
