Well, I have been a member of college confidential for a long time, and I, like most other college obsessed people on this site, have worried several times over my academic path and devoted immense amounts of energy so that I could someday go to college and graduate. I see now that all that has been wasted effort. While checking my inbox today, I found the following message:

Well, there you go. Clearly I should just drop out of the University of Florida right now and earn a PhD without any of the long, arduous study normally associated with that task. It will be free and I won’t be needing my bachelor’s degree to do it!

Dont listen to them they don’t email you back I got that same message and i left my info and even gave my social security and pass port number to make it easier for them but they changed their mind i guess.

Wow! The scam people must be psychics! Apparently I received my very first scam-email 30 minutes BEFORE I posted the comment above. My scam-cherry was popped by a Mr. Vincent Cheng Hoi Chuen, GBS, JP Chairman of the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited. Apparently I’m in for a cut of $24.5M of a Chinese businessman who died in Iraq. The money will otherwise go to the Hong Kong government, because this businessman did not express any kin to whom the money should be given. Oh no!

I created another hotmail account and replied to his email with that one, because I want to keep my own email clear of junk. I wonder if they’ll notice that they never sent a scam email to this other email address. I’m waiting anxiously for his reply.
