Wesleyan Fall 2020 Transfer

Does anyone know how the waitlist works? Or based on previous years does anyone know how many students they admit off of the waitlist or when-ish we could hear?

I accepted my spot on the waitlist and asked a few questions to my advisor, I’ll dm you when I get answers

If you wouldn’t mind, could you DM me as well? I am also interested in remaining on the waitlist.

Sure!

Accepted! Feel free to ask me any questions, and best of luck to everyone.

Did you apply for/get financial aid?

Thanks so much!

Anyone know according to prior reporting by Wesleyan the number of transfers it typically accepts?

Where did you get the number 50?

Did you apply for financial aid? If you didn’t, that probably was a helpful factor.

How many transfers do Amherst and Williams typically accept?

It’s in the admissions letter.

Last year Wesleyan admitted 134 students.

Also, congrats! (I should have mentioned that in my earlier post)

Like such a minuscule amount that I didn’t even consider applying (less than 2%)

Oh oops I did not submit a required document for the application, but Wesleyan is being super accommodating and giving me until June 1st to submit it which is more than enough time. so I guess I’m still waiting!

Well good luck!

You’re application is being deferred? You’ll probably be treated like a waitlisted applicant, where you’ll have a chance of acceptance if the school goes to the waitlist. This is just a guess. Let us know what happens.

Do you mean Fall 2018?

In their data set for that year, it lists 159 accepted transfers.

Fall 2019.

Do you have stats for how many transfers enrolled for Fall 2019?

For Fall 2018, 159 were accepted but the number may include some from the waiting list. Enrollment was 41.

If the target enrollment is about the same, then it has to go to the wait list. A 41 enrollment based on 50 admits is way too high of an enrollment rate for Wesleyan. Its yield is usually below 50%. Say only 20/50 enroll, then it would definitely go to its waitlist.
