Since Wesleyan released decisions prior to knowing its first-year enrollment, it must have a targeted transfer enrollment regardless of the number of first-years.
@Yankeefan20 lol I did. $0 was a bit of an exaggeration.
Regarding the number of applicants accepted this year, the acceptance letter said that they received around 500 applications, but didn’t mention how many were accepted, so maybe that’s where the number 50 came from.
Yeah I’m both surprised and thankful that they’re letting me submit documents after the deadline. What I missed though is a minor document and the information is available elsewhere in my application, so maybe that’s why they are lenient? In the email, too, they mentioned being flexible due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Still, I should have been more vigilant…
I think that their target yield this year is 50 students, not their number of accepted students. When the letter says 50 spots, that is their target yield. It looks like they accepted the same number of students as previous years with a similar number of applicants.
Where do you see about overenrollment? 785 is probably the target. The number of enrolled admitted applicants is likely being counted still so how did you base your conclusion?
When it lists 785 for enrollment, that’s probably an estimate. The statistics were published before new accepted applicants submitted whether they would enroll as as you say, I don’t think we have enough information to know if it is overenrolled.
The target enrollment for transfer students must be independent of first-year enrollment because transfer decisions were given prior to May 1st.
