DS back from horn lesson to a rejection. Oh well.
Yeah, one of my LORs was from my AP lang teacher and he said it was one of the best heâs ever written tooâŠand I had him and my current AP lit teacher review my personal statement and a lot of supplemental and again they both said it was some of the best writing theyâve ever read. (Not to be cocky at all but just me thinking out loud here that it must not be my writing knocking me down). My other LOR was from my history teacher and we had a very good relationship and I did well in his class but we werenât THAT close so maybe he didnât sell me as wellâŠbut Iâm having trouble believing that one potentially âjustâ okay-ish LOR knocked me down that much. I guess maybe since my LORs are from humanities teachers and my intended major is physics? Idk. I wouldâve had my calc/physics teachers write them but even though I had fantastic relationships w them I knew they werenât going to be able to write as compelling of recommendations as my humanities teachers (since their classes are based on writing whereas my STEM ones are not lol)
well im also a physics applicant! and mine were from ap chem and ap lang. soâŠâŠi heard that doesnât matter that much. i think weâre just unlucky tbh.
NVM. Deleted.
those are my WL wish i got in. right now my acceptances are stony brook u, f&m, union, and conn coll.
Sorry. I just realized that. My fault.
But those are also some solid acceptances. Youâre in good shape. Try not to let this get you too wound up. Youâre going somewhere, and those are good options.
i also got significant aid and a special program from any school i got into that had one. so for me itâs either âwe are literally giving u reduced tuition and special benefits so you consider usâ or âwe canât offer you admissionâ
Iâm not from the east, so I donât know a lot about the colleges where youâve been accepted except that Iâve heard so many good things about Connecticut College and Stony Brook, even way out here in San Diego.
Yeah, thatâs how it rolls some times. I assume youâre still waiting on other schools as this point.
8 more, all reachesâŠ.
Yeah Iâve been accepted to Virginia Tech and Penn State for physics which is great but they donât have competitive rowing and I really hope to continue rowing at above a club level. I also have always hoped to go into New England for school soâŠat this point maybe unrealistic given my upcoming decisions are majority sub 20% ARs.
stony is my local state school- and i really donât want that kind of experience. rn from the acceptances i have, im strongly leaning towards union. stony is top notch for my major but not socially what im looking for. conn coll i like socially, but not as good of a program compared to my other acceptances. union has both, but im scared its too greek.
oh thatâs tough. im planning to run division 3 xc and track. colgate is d1 but i can still run there. stony brook- probably not but probably not going to attend over my other options anyway. dartmouth, probably not getting in but would run club there- they have a good club team.
Iâve heard good things about Penn State for physics. And engineering and the like.

D24 accepted! And the financial aid is extremely generous and even better than anticipated. Iâm nearly in tears and beyond grateful.
Again, Iâm so sorry for those who were less fortunate.
Congrats, I was accepted as well!!! How did you find your financial aid offer in the portal?
Iâm just the parent. My kid emailed it to me. And congrats!
Our oldest was deferred by Wes for ED1 then rejected. She was so upset and ended up at Bates and loves it. Many times she says thatâs G-d she didnât get into Wes bc sheâs so happy at Bates. Youâll end up loving wherever you go hopefully too.
