Yeah, one of my LORs was from my AP lang teacher and he said it was one of the best he’s ever written too
and I had him and my current AP lit teacher review my personal statement and a lot of supplemental and again they both said it was some of the best writing they’ve ever read. (Not to be cocky at all but just me thinking out loud here that it must not be my writing knocking me down). My other LOR was from my history teacher and we had a very good relationship and I did well in his class but we weren’t THAT close so maybe he didn’t sell me as well
but I’m having trouble believing that one potentially “just” okay-ish LOR knocked me down that much. I guess maybe since my LORs are from humanities teachers and my intended major is physics? Idk. I would’ve had my calc/physics teachers write them but even though I had fantastic relationships w them I knew they weren’t going to be able to write as compelling of recommendations as my humanities teachers (since their classes are based on writing whereas my STEM ones are not lol)

Sorry. I just realized that. My fault.

But those are also some solid acceptances. You’re in good shape. Try not to let this get you too wound up. You’re going somewhere, and those are good options.

i also got significant aid and a special program from any school i got into that had one. so for me it’s either “we are literally giving u reduced tuition and special benefits so you consider us” or “we can’t offer you admission”

I’m not from the east, so I don’t know a lot about the colleges where you’ve been accepted except that I’ve heard so many good things about Connecticut College and Stony Brook, even way out here in San Diego.

Yeah, that’s how it rolls some times. I assume you’re still waiting on other schools as this point.

Yeah I’ve been accepted to Virginia Tech and Penn State for physics which is great but they don’t have competitive rowing and I really hope to continue rowing at above a club level. I also have always hoped to go into New England for school so
at this point maybe unrealistic given my upcoming decisions are majority sub 20% ARs.

stony is my local state school- and i really don’t want that kind of experience. rn from the acceptances i have, im strongly leaning towards union. stony is top notch for my major but not socially what im looking for. conn coll i like socially, but not as good of a program compared to my other acceptances. union has both, but im scared its too greek.

oh that’s tough. im planning to run division 3 xc and track. colgate is d1 but i can still run there. stony brook- probably not but probably not going to attend over my other options anyway. dartmouth, probably not getting in but would run club there- they have a good club team.

I’ve heard good things about Penn State for physics. And engineering and the like.

D24 accepted! And the financial aid is extremely generous and even better than anticipated. I’m nearly in tears and beyond grateful.

Again, I’m so sorry for those who were less fortunate.

Our oldest was deferred by Wes for ED1 then rejected. She was so upset and ended up at Bates and loves it. Many times she says that’s G-d she didn’t get into Wes bc she’s so happy at Bates. You’ll end up loving wherever you go hopefully too.
