Clearly, in Canada. :)

Clearly, in Canada. :)

I cried. This was wonderful. The guy who asked for socks and underwear; what stuck in my mind was that he said I need
underwear and socks…everyone else said what they wanted…it was all lovely but somehow it resonated with me because
his needs were more important than his wants…I am not explaining myself properly but it sort of brought things into
perspective for me.

Looks like fun!

Now wait a minute–in Canada Santa and the elves wear blue? Or is that just the WestJet color? Or perhaps we’re to believe that Santa saves his red duds for the sleigh.

I honestly read this at first as “Wetjet Christmas Miracle” and wondered how exciting a Christmas mop could be.

What an efficient workforce! I believe we’ve identified the team that should have handled the Obamacare website rollout.

But will anyone book their flights through them?

Maybe folks wanting to fly in Canada?

I absolutely would if I was going to go to Canada!!

It certainly accomplished the goal of “Name Recognition”! Who had heard of WestJet before? (Not me) And who will now think “Oh, WestJet, I remember them, they’re the one who did that Christmas video…” (Me)

P.S. I choked up too…

The video has made the rounds on facebook too

MommaJ, yes, blue is the WestJet color!

The amount spent on the gifts is tiny compared to the favorable publicity the airline has received. One thing that has been less publicized is that they are also donating free flights to reunite families in need for the holidays.

Oh my…it brought tears to my eyes. How awesome!!!

I bet the socks and underwear guy wished he wished for something else!!!

I love the little kid’s expression when he got the tablet.

What an efficient workforce! I believe we’ve identified the team that should have handled the Obamacare website rollout.

lol…yes…Westjet needs to run the country!!

I guess that’s the blend of Christmas spirit and commercialism… Pretty cool though.

Do you think it’s real? Regardless it’s great marketing, and seriously, how much could it have cost them to do this, in the big scheme of things.

In the big scheme of things…they did it…no-one else has. It is real and it was a great thing they did whether it cost them $1 or $1m…they did it and they deserve all the positive brand recognition/loyalty they get…and hopefully it will rub off on all the other conglomerates who do nothing.

Yes, it is real. I know a couple who were on one of the chosen flights.

Interesting that this did not happen in the US. I am not sure it would be allowed. Airports are public places and concerned about being neutral with regard to religious holidays. I live in NY. If it had happened here I can pretty well assure that there would be protests and/or boycotts.

Not sure if anyone has watched the “Why” video that goes with this:

[WestJet Christmas Miracle: Why? - YouTube](<a href=“WestJet Christmas Miracle: Why? - YouTube”>WestJet Christmas Miracle: Why? - YouTube)

A WestJet exec discusses their making a charitable donation (of free flights, I believe) if they can get to 200,000 views on Youtube. As of this morning, that video has over 23 million views!

I still get teary when I watch it!

Most likely many different religions were represented on those flights. All received gifts. So not sure what anyone would be complaining about. I really saw this as more about the spirit of giving. Religion never entered my mind.

How can this be anything but good? :)
