what are college gay republican students like?

I am sure there is plenty of them on campuses especially in south and conservative states. I assume most of them are in closet. Some of them are bisexual. Most of them won’t feel comfortable around open gay guys, regardless of masculinity.

If someone is gay and in closet, then that person is more likely to freak out and stop talking to friend if he finds out his friend is gay, especially when still young? I don’t think straights have problems because they should be confident in their sexuality!

Um… there are gay and “in the closet” students with all types of political affiliations… why are you singling out “republicans”?

I’m a member of my school’s College Republicans, and as far as I know we have at least one or two openly gay members, if not more. What does being republican matter?

Is this going to turn into some kind of leftist bashing and stereotyping of republicans?

You don’t need to be heterosexual to believe the spending in this country has gotten out of control or that you prefer that the US doesn’t become some socialist nanny state…

in my college all republican students I met in my school, don’t have on facebook any friends who are gay! Liberal more likely, even straight.

This might help? [Gay Republicans](http://www.gayrepublicans.org)

I haven’t actually visited the site since I’m at my internship and they block almost everything on their computers. But judging from its title, I’ll assume its what the name suggests.

Gay republicans are like straight republican. They both come in all shade and variations

Could we please skip the sterotyping!

so how come all conservatives in my school, the most I met are like that? especially in fraternity?

is it possible that fraternities have strict policies against dating/sexual relationships among brothers?

You’re basing some broad assumptions based on a slight sample.

That’s like me seeing three Koreans wearing blue shoes and then assuming that all Koreans wear blue shoes.

On the other hand if you take an SRS and find that 25 have blue shoes…

Dick Cheney’Sarah Palin 2012!!!

Sarah Palin is an evil wench that has no clue. Dick Cheney is smart, but likes to break rules, so no on him.

Gotta be Mitt Romney, Bobby Jindal, or Ron Paul.

Elephant in the room here… gay marriage is one of the biggest wedge issues right now, and republican politicians tend to oppose it strongly. Me voting for most republicans in this state would be sort of like a black guy voting for Strom Thurmond in the 50’s.

Bet on Tom Ridge for the Republicans’ 2012 pick. He was an extremely popular governor of Pennsylvania, a state Republicans have been trying to win for years. He was Secretary of Homeland Security right after 9/11. He was on Bush and McCain’s VP shortlists. And he recently said he wouldn’t be running for Senate in 2010. I wonder why?

The only gay republican I know is more reactionary than most straight republicans I know.

Ron Paul - good call!!!
but unfortunately it won’t happen… :(

I’m not a big fan of Jindal or Romney.

I think Mike Pence, Paul Ryan, and Ridge all have a good chance to do big things in the future. Mike Pence especially.

But I still would love, love, love to have DICK CHENEY 2012!!!

I’m in my school’s College Republicans, and I cant say sexual orientation has ever come up…

ahahaha i love this thread. it makes me laugh.

It’s a good thread. I can’t wait to join college repubs when I go to Madison.

Non-dairy creamer?

gay college republicans are hip and classy from my experience ;)
