What are IB testing?

I know they are simliar to APs.

could someone explain to me what they test, what format the test is in and also when do they proctor the tests?

Everything depends on the subject. Often part of the test is at the end of the year and the rest is somewhere in the middle. It’s…complicated.

The exams are in either November or May.

Obviously different subjects test different things. It seems to me that the IB is more about understanding and being able to apply concepts than to just memorize facts than AP is, but I don’t know much about AP so I can’t really say.

There are usually several exams for each subject. You can have a paper 1 one day, and paper 2 another, and paper 3 later, etc. The formats of the tests are different as well. There are some multiple choice questions (I think?), but also several essay questions and short answer questions (I think…)

Also, the final scores are not just based on what you get on the exams. Although it varies for each subject, I think it’s something like 70% of your score that’s dependant on the exam results, and 30% is based on what you get on the internal assessments.
