What are my chances of getting into the top US universities ?

<p>I’m currently a student in class 12 of a prestigious school in India aspiring to join an engineering program in the US.</p>

<p>2280 (superscored )on the SAT(770 CR 800 M 710 W) .Will give subject tests later.</p>

<p>I got 90 % in class 9, 10.0 cgpa in class 10 and 87 % in class 11(CBSE board). Have reached the second level of various olympiads(within rank 100) and have recieved various medals and certificates for other activities too.</p>

<p>I play the piano(doing grade 5 currently) and the guitar.I also am a brown belt in karate , have participated in tennis and swimming tournaments at the local level and also have participated in intra school soccer and cricket events . I Also teach the children of the maids in my colony and have participated in various social awareness programs.</p>

<p>What would be my chances of getting into Cornell,Columbia,UPenn,Stanford,Harvard,MIT,University of California,Berkeley or Caltech? Which ones would be realistic?</p>

‘Prestigious’- So you will be compared with applicants from your school! Do you stand out among them? You did not tell us your rank thus I could not assume.

<p>Being blunt, you have a 21% chance of getting into UCB and 16% chance of getting into Cornell.( chances from ■■■■■■■■■■ ). For the rest, I will leave them to you for further research.
If you should take my word, I had suggest you to get some safeties into the list. Again, you should search them yourself.
On another note, you are definitely above average. You sound like a very good contender for the ivies. Good Luck!!</p>
