What are my chances???

hey everyone…
wanted to kno my chances of getting admission into the following colleges…

georgia tech
UT austin
Purdue

my sat 1 scores are 1740 and sat II are:
physics:800
chemistry:800
Maths lvl 2:790

thanks

and also ive got a 92 % in my class 10 examinations and a 90% in my class 12…

Unfortunately I don’t know much about Georgia Tech, UTAustin or Purdue. I do know Purdue’s Engineering is tough. Based on your SAT II’s, I’d say you have an okay chance. However, a breakdown of your SAT I would be helpful. 1740 may be low-ish, since most intel engineering hopefuls have higher SAT I’s. (1740 is on average 580 for each section.) I also heard UT Austin is darn competitive when it comes to out of state applicants and I imagine even more so for internationals.

Where are you from?
What are your ECs?
Any volunteering?
Any school/regional/national awards?

We need more info about you.

But your SAT2 scores are impressive.

im frm India

yes ive done alot of social work with an NGO and have a lot of school awards as well…in physics, chemistry, science and overall excellence award…my gpa is around 4.5(in academics) and 4.2 in sports (out of 5) for my last 4 years in school…

got a few medals (state level) in martial arts as well…lol…

mathematics:660
critical reading:580
writing:500

You want to see if you can bump up your CR score a bit. And possibly your Math score is low if you’re goin’ into engineering, though I suppose your Math2 score balances it out…

With the further info, it seems like you have a shot, but again, Engineering is a damn competitive major.

(P.S., you can edit past posts within 20 minutes of making them to add new info.)

well ive taken the TOEFL examination and passed the requirements for these colleges so i hope that can balance my poor CR score…

U will most probably get in Purdue (80% chance)
Gatech - Very slight chance
UTA-35-40%
U r from which city?

ur chance at GaTech is rather low, since GaTech does not consider SAT II scores. I’m a bit curious tho’…how’d u manage to ace the SAT II’s and screw up the SAT I? Especially the math part…
good luck…

well taj…
i dont want to make any excuses but i wasnt well before my SAT I …

wat do u think my chances are at the other 2 univ/colleges…

are u sure about GaTech…

are there any other colleges to which i could still apply…most of the deadlines have passed tho…damn

Check out for Texas A & M University, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, International University Bremen(this one is in Germany), etc…

also see
UIUC and University of Michigan Ann Arbor…
as the dates for this year have passed already…I assume u will be applying next year so I think you should retake the SAT.

u might also like University of California’s–> if u can afford to pay like high 30k’s or 40k an year.

All dates for application have passed…but purdue wil and UTaustin will nevertheless allow you to apply if u get ur application done instantly…

Howvr dude… purdue doesnt consider ur sat2’s and since u r too late. ur chances are really slim… though ur school marks may help u in… but in engineering i dunt think so…

same goes with gatech and utaustin all of which dont see sat2 except uraustin for maths2 …rest nothing…

the last 2 i wud say least chance as UTaustin is known to be highly SAT driven too… and it almost never admits intels with those scores…

SM

furthermore u being an international applying late with the lower scores…further decrease ur chances…though hope always exist with gr8 application otherwise…

SM

UIUC may be a decent bet. However they seem to be in love with SATI grades.

if you are self-financed, you should be able to get into Purdue!
