What are my chances?

Hi, I am currently in the final year of high school, I’m from India.
I scored 2100 on my SAT’s (750 in math).
GPA : - 3.8 or 90% in CBSE board.(12th grade)

E.C’s : -

1.Intern at an Eye Donation NGO.
2.Made 2 android apps which got over 10,000 downloads in total.
3.Made one IOS app.
4.Part of maths and computer club.

What are my chances of getting into universities like Carnegie,Purdue,Berkeley,University of Washington,University of Wisconsin-Madison?

Participated in:-
1.science Olympiad.
2.maths Olympiad
3.computer Olympiad

Ranked 1st in interschool Computer Science Quiz.

I was also in top 10 of my class in grade 9 and 10.

Scored around 85% in 10th grade.

You’re not applying for financial aid, right?

In that case, I think you WILL get into Wisconsin, U of Washington and Purdue. Berkeley and Carnegie are a little less certain, but I think you should apply.

By the way, you’re thinking fall of 2016, right?

Are they national level olympiad? Did you get any medals?

I am not applying for financial aid(money is not a problem). I was ranked 37th in my state and 11th in my class.

I think CMU is hard to predict for anyone unless a student is a total medal monster and has perfect everything.

OP, UW, U Wisconsin and Purdue are good shots. Glad you can pay.

UCB would be a bit of high match to low-mid reach. And Carnegie…it’s a crapshoot for most people.

By the way, there is a reason this website is called College CONFIDENTIAL. Don’t write your full name.

Btw how good are my e.c’s

Your ECs are considered average, ie. they’d want top 3 or top 10 in your state, not 37. They’re okay for UWisconsin, Purdue, UWashington, and all three are excellent colleges. I think you’re a bit on the low side for what they want at the other schools and Carnegie Mellon is highly unlikely.

UWA: Low match/Match
UWI: Low match/Match
Berkeley: Reach (less so than CMU though)
Purdue: Low match
CMU: Reach

Thanks for the reply. I appreciate it

Make sure to have back up plans in India . What do you want to study?

I’d like to study CS or computer engineering.
