<p>my parents didn’t really care. they used to want me to go there, and when i told them, i got silence. : / i haven’t actually told very many ppl but i told a friend who got in their last year by text and he said, “u see! i knew u would get in somewhere! im excited for u!”</p>
<p>It gets comments everywhere. On trips in Cairo, Istanbul, Dubai, Sao Paolo, London and Orlando, you will hear ‘go bears’ and congratulations. Great brand recognition worldwide.</p>

<p>My dad hugged me literally 5 times, he was so excited. Since I’m from New England, word has spread around pretty quickly. Somehow my mom’s best friend’s friend found out, and like urgently called my mom’s best friends immediately after she found out being like, “Guess who got into UCB?!” It’s a pretty big deal over here since no one really gets into UCB in this part of the nation.</p>

<p>My classmates just say “Congratulations!” with a smile, and then that’s pretty much it. I guess it’s not that big of a deal to them, considering at least 15 people from my school got in this year. It’s still a big deal to me that I got in though!</p>
<p>everyone says “congrats!!!”, others are like “oooooooh”. My dad started calling me Berkeley every since.</p>

<p>Now they think I’m crazy because I may reject Berkeley for a less prestigious school.</p>
<p>All of my friends were excited for me. Most of the kids in my class were jealous. My family could care less, they want me to go far away to an east coast private. My mom straight up flipped her hair and said “Good for you.” She’s pretty set on me going to UChicago :/</p>
