What are some classes should I take in my last year of High school (senior year)?

Hi,
I am currently junior in high school and everyone is trying to schedule classes for next year.
I already have all requirements for regular diploma except half semester of PE.

I just need advice on some of the classes I should take in my senior year in high school.

Thanks.

What type of colleges are you targeting? What classes have you taken so far? Intended major for college?

Take classes depending on what you like so your senior year won’t feel like a drag. Try something new, take something like a cooking class or financial literacy class for your future.

Look at the websites for the schools you hope to attend. They usually have a section that says “academic preparation”. Then you compare your coursework to what is listed.

For instance, the UCs require a yearlong graded course in Visual and performing arts. It trips up students who are not California HS grads.

Think of this as a chance to get a better foundation in subjects you may not study formally ever again. If you are STEM oriented, how about human geography, history, religions, philosophy, psych?

Definitely take what interests you in your intended field of study.

I love the idea above about cooking other as life skill.

If you are planning to apply to selective schools, keep up the rigor with many of these.

Regular diploma is different from college expectations.
For colleges you’d need 4 units each of English and history, foreign language up to level 3 or 4, each if bio, chem, physics, plus one more, and math through calculus or precalculus. Honors classes when available and at least 4 APs if you’re aiming for a selective college.
