What are the best learning materials you use for AP Calc?

My kid is taking the AP this year, and we struggle to find great learning solutions (and we cannot afford to pay 100$ per hour private tuition).

Do you know good ressources online?

Reminder that CC is not a referral service so general advice and suggestions to FREE resources only. TIA

How about just doing well in the AP calculus course?

Has he tried Khan Academy? asking teacher for extra help? checking to see if the school offers any free tutoring?

It is early in the year to be struggling. Is there a lower level of the class he can drop down to (easier if college applications have not been submitted)?

XO Math contains a library of free video lessons & worksheets covering various math subjects including precalculus & calculus.

Is your child taking AP Calculus this year? Are they having difficulty?

The reason that I ask is that the only students who are IMHO likely to do well if they self-study calculus are students who are very, very good at math. However, for these students calculus is likely to be very important and very useful in the future. There really are a lot of subjects that depend upon calculus, and many of these subjects are very interesting for someone who is good at math. As such, I think that it is worth investing the time to take the course and do well in it.

Also, calculus depends a lot on all of its prerequisites. A student is likely to be better off if they did well in the prerequisites for calculus before they take calculus itself.

One of my kids used this, but it’s not tailored to the AP. You will generally get good at Calculus if you run through the whole book solving all the problems by yourself β€” not just reading the answers they provide: https://www.amazon.com/Schaums-Solved-Problems-Calculus-Outlines/dp/0071635343/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=XW9N7PK3VN1G&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.SMrhHQWBpxi01aQ20p-qj3obXajrqL-BYa1rsRBa6EtXYuXxROD_hSRq4CTrIvbVNL-9ddkUDwiJHLH5Bi37TSp01G-HKC8eyBt-SEGTAU-GBJitjU9YEmI1gLT8wS4ThXQYgeFREyVEILcbItCziUeaXB7B8Iiu93C4XazQwR6hgn66HH5nt219DQolhDf7AztYFvdEOTWCMg8jB0QEeA.t0yI4uZobDsPsCni6OsK_L4uVo1SCI1GQsuHwsi07EQ&dib_tag=se&keywords=schaum+series+calculus&qid=1791031211&sprefix=schaum+series+calculus%2Caps%2C160&sr=8-3

You learn calculus only by doing problems β€” not by watching online videos or reading answers in the textbook.
