There are people will derail every thread they post in with nonsense and misinformation. Sometimes the derailed threads are chat, but sometimes they involve someone seeking information who then don’t get what they sought.
Not on CC, but I just love the Tripadvisor reviews of modest, inexpensive European hotels where the reviewer complains that the desk clerk barely spoke English.
@TomSrOfBoston call me a sadist, but it kinda thrills me to tell kids “zero chance for Stanford with 19ACT”. Basically I m laughing at their beyond unrealistic hopes.
How about the “you wouldn’t know because you’re not <insert religion,=”" race,="" gender,="" sexual="" orientation,="" ethnicity,="" geography,="" ses,="" etc.="" here="">" comments in response to someone giving their opinion?
Like some unknown person on the internet has a corner on the experience of being whatever category they call themselves. And that the assumption is that if you don’t agree with them, you don’t have the experience, and your comments/advice is “nonsense” and “misinformation”.
@intparent I was referring to posters here on CC who ask basic questions that could be easily looked up (researched) on the colleges’ websites and then inquire about freshman research.
