Plenty of LACs and catholic colleges in PA, many of them use only FAFSA for financial aid.
Susquehanna is very generous with merit and need based aid.
Some others Juniata, Duquesne, Gannon, Allegheny, Lycoming

Alfred University (western NY, southern tier) is a small, private LAC. FAFSA only, no CSS, generous with aid
The problem is that the most generous schools, the ones that meet full need, base that calculation on more that FAFSA.
Privates give some merit and need based aid possibility, but the cost is high to begin with, so even if you get $30,000-40,000 in aid, you might still have too much to pay.
If your EFC is $0, your net price might still be $10,000 or more, which you might be able to cover with a loan of $5,500 and summer earnings, and maybe help from your parents.
A public instate college might be a good option, if tuition is pretty low or you get merit, you get Pell and maybe a state grant, and your loan.
@mommdc, the bigger problem is that still being a citizen I’m instate nowhere. I did compose a list of colleges favorable to me in my other thread (post #96). Would you mind checking them out and suggest?
It’s been 2 years since NCP last talked and emailed and paid child support in which he actually stated that he wouldn’t support anymore. He never bothered to ask about me, my interests, health, academics, goals. He doesn’t even know which grade I’m in. Never participated in school PTA. Made fun and rebuked I was faking about my serious leg fracture in 2016, just to pull more money from him. He met me only twice in lifetime. Now blocked me on every social platform. His men tried to harm me while I was walking one day, luckily escaped. Is this good enough for getting a NCP waiver? I have 2-3 people including my counselor, doctor, community head and others who can write very powerful letters on this issue and non-participation of NCP in my life. Would like to apply to some CSS NCP schools if it’s likely to get the waiver.
Thank you very much!
Here is an example of the type of form you would have to fill out to request a NCP waiver:

It sounds like you have some good grounds (sorry for that) but each individual college will make their own decisions. Good luck.
@illiniowl, thank you very much! Appreciate it. Took a first look at the form. Trying to turn disadvantages into advantages!
As long as you apply early to some of the guaranteed merit schools like UAH, UA, then you can pick a few more of the competitive merit ones in locations you like.
Add a reach like UChicago, if you want, but I wouldn’t bother with too many possibly unaffordable schools.
Apply early to Pitt, and maybe Ohio State too.
University of Arizona (huge FA)
University of Utah (full ride)
University of Alabama, Huntsville (full ride)
University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa
University of Mississippi
University of New Mexico, Albuquerque
University of South Carolina
University of Pittsburgh
University of Toledo (full ride)
UT Dallas (kinda full ride)
If you have a police report on the attempted harm, that would help a lot.
The only FAFSA only school with very generous need based aid…that guarantees to meet full need for all accepted students…is University of Chicago.
There are tons of FAFSA only private schools…but the rest don’t guarantee to meet full need for everyone accepted.
Is that what you want to know? @GuessME5
@intparent, unfortunately, no I didn’t report it on all 3 occasions. I live in an area, which is heavily filled with his relatives and friends. Didn’t want to get into further serious trouble. I’m very pessimistic about my chances of NCP info getting waived. I have that strange feeling…
Ohio State is unaffordable without the competitive Eminence scholarship.
PROFILE, e.g., goes into more detail than FAFSA, the latter resulting in some well-to-do students getting unneeded aid, and some low-income students not getting enough aid.
To answer the subject question…
There are a TON of FAFSA only private schools. A ton. But most of them do not guarantee to meet full need for all accepted students. University of Chicago stands alone on that front. Chicago does have a short U Chi form, but they do not ask a lot on it…and they do not ask for non-custodial parent info.
But it’s a very competitive school for admissions.
@GuessME5 Just U Chicago and Vandy and you already have those.
@gearmom
When did Vandy stop using the Profile?
@thumper1, both UChicago and Vandy require CSS Profile but not the NCP info.
@GuessME5 University of Chicago does NOT require the Profile.

Here it mentions UChicago requires CSS of only the domestic student. Of course, I’d take what the official school website itself has to say about the FA process, but then this may be an error on College Board site.
It’s not the first one, even Oberlin has wrong info on that list - no NCP info required but when you go the official website it says required.
Eminence at Ohio State requires an on campus interview.
@BuckeyeMWDSG, that’s why I’m keeping it off my list just like Toledo.
