Most annoying has to be “I scored a 1590…should I retake to go for the 1600”
^^ But is my 36 ACT actually high enough, or should I try again to prove I can do it twice?
I haven’t seen that yet, but I expect to any day now.
^^ Reminds me of the poster who asked in all sincerity if he should retake the Math 2 SAT II because his score of 800 was only the 80th percentile. 8-|
That 36 thing could happen, right? Scores C: 36 36/36/36/35…should you retake for all 36? If it can happen, we’ll see it!
One’s where a brand new poster opens old treads from years ago with the same post in all of them " You can sue a professor if they refuse a make up exam" Sounds like someone is looking for business .
Threads where posters whine about being “praised” or “chastised” for their opinion. As a poster who posts my fair share of unpopular opinions I think that just goes with the territory – you evaluate the pushback and either it refines your original thinking or it doesn’t. Isn’t that the whole purpose of these forums? Sharing ideas some of which will be very different than your own?
You might be in the wrong place if you can’t process the occasional pile on.
^^^^I only complain about it if the OP orders me not to post anymore on “their” thread. (Complain to a mod that is)
Liberal arts bashing…
…Especially when the person bashing doesn’t even know what the liberal arts are. It’s annoying that the “bad” liberal arts label seems to only apply to English, sociology, psych, history, etc., but not to “good” majors like economics, math, statistics, sciences, etc., which are also liberal arts. Lack of knowledge is annoying.
I had a CC HS Jr chastise me for "allowing "my Freshman son attend a liberal arts college as Computer Science major , and that he would never find a job because of it. Boy, I’ve had lots of sleepless nights over that comment. ( insert sarcasm)
Annoying but funny threads started by high school students who do not realize that this is a moderated site. They find out soon!
Those by a mom who wants to help her HS kid determine a specific major in “Business” because the kid’s ultimate career goal is to have a nice office, a nice salary and wear a suit.
^^^And not to be required to work overtime.
I missed the no overtime part. That’s funny!
I so wish we could link to those threads. I guess I need to spend more time on this site to get to all the good stuff.
^^^ Or PM the poster … I am always glad to share the links to the “treasures” I come across!
Poor kid. So much whirring over her head.
Are you absolutely sure that the poster is not toying with the esteemed crowd here?
Posts that are set up ( besides the bragging post) as a means to brag about themselves or their children .
No. The poster been around for a while and is well known for a strong opinion against vaccination and borderline aggressive responses.
