sometimes a snowflake is just a snowflake, and wants to vent drama.
What is really happening vs. what is being portrayed in the post may bear little to no resemblance to reality.
Like the one where it seemed like the stepdad was controlling every facet of the kid’s life, but when posters asked a few more questions it looked a lot more like he was just trying to establish residency in the state to save money. He went from being the devil to being frugal in about 3 posts, lol…
They ask questions, we answer them through our own lens. It’s up to them to get butthurt or not.
Threads that are obviously international students who don’t want to say that they are and they feel they are meant to attend a top tier school for a full ride with average stats.
I had to go look at that thread. . .energizer bunny of meltdown.
If I could have one feature added to CC, it would be an automatic filter for “Am I ruined?” or “Am I doomed?” threads that automatically responded “Yes! You will forever be a failure.” as one hyperbole deserves another.
My own threads as I tend to get wordy, offering up details of my perception of the situation before cutting to the chase and just stating the issue or opinion in the simplest of terms…
Students who can’t oayna dime for college, And who are looking for private loans to pay the full cost of attendance someplace…or close to it…oh and can they get private loans with no U.S. citizen cosigner?
Oh…and family in income is $20,000 a year…but they only need $30,000 a year in loans!
This is new to me but I’ve decided I get very annoyed by threads discussing rankings. Now there are threads discussing conglomerating rankings and come up with new rankings. GRRRR
Any time someone wants to redesign the whole admissions process rather than dealing with the one we have now (which is admittedly far from perfect and could use redesigning). “What if AOs didn’t look at grades and only read essays?” etc.
I sometimes wonder if there should be a cap on thread length, perhaps 20 pages. After a certain point threads either tend to veer way off course or go around in circles. The ones I really wonder about are when the OP asks for advice and never posts again.
^^ Especially if a later post by the OP in that same thread says that they got into the University of [compass direction+state], but don’t want to go there, so it doesn’t count.
