“I got into my safety school X, which is beneath me, so I want to transfer to Y, which is my reach/dream school”.
Threads where posters use nothing but text speak.
On my nursing forum, text speak is against TOS, reason being that members whose first language is not English can struggle to understand it.
^^ might against TOS here too. Only ENGLISH is allowed. You could make a case that TXT Speak is not English.
Threads where parents refuse to accepts facts, such as that the Ivies don’t award merit only scholarships and that their child’s scholarship to Cornell was need based. As if there’s something insulting in that fact.
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
You don’t even need to make a case; it’s listed in ToS as a violation, and I have warned for that. So feel free to flag the post.

Once again I have to say that I must lead a very sheltered CC life. I just don’t see most of these threads people are complaining about. Where are they?
That makes two of us, @Consolation
I just wonder about the usefulness of complaining about a thread anyway. If it doesn’t interest me or the comments are not worth my time or attention I just click off the thread.
We are not usually complaining…just observing the absurdity that appears here on CC.
Yeah, the Cornell merit aid thread was stressful to read.
Yay! Good to know.
Any thread (and there are many) debating the relative prestigiousness of various Ivies, Stanford and UChicago. So many vehement assertions, so few facts, so little importance…
^ Yes, but such threads can be redeemed by “University of Alaska, Fairbanks would be the top school in the country. If you look at a globe, it’s near the top.”
=))
I think Orono just took a huge leap in the rankings!
Note on my post #2853. That’s not my quote, so I don’t want to take credit. We aren’t supposed to link to other threads here or tag people not already on this thread. So, you can search to “like” the original posting.
MODERATOR’S NOTE:
C’Mon guys, these posts are not disappearing on their own, so don’t keep referencing them, because that’s, well, annoying.
All fun and games until you knock someone who reads this thread. I think this has outlived its usefulness. That’s three times I can think of in recent months where someone has complained and the person it’s about has read it and naturally reacted negatively. Just perpetuates whatever argument started the complaints in the first place.
The recent rash, once again, of humble brags: I was admitted to Harvard, Yale, Princeton and Stanford. Please help me decide where to go.
Well their kind of entitled to that brag right?
