What are the most annoying threads on CC?

Threads in which the poster asks for advice and then gets angry when the advice is not what he wants to hear.

I get annoyed by “Chance me” threads on all other forums than the “Chance me” forum. As a rule I ignore them but I really want to respond " put this on the “chance me” Forum that is why it’s there!

Threads by helicopter parents who post Chances threads for their kids.

The “if I don’t qualify” (for merit aid, school grants, or federal aid), the system is unfair and the programs must be discontinued" thread(s).

@LKnomad what was the 8th grader’s link?

The threads where people keep posting the same things that have been posted a few pages before.

@LKnomad the OP PM’ed me too!

@awesomepolyglot I had commented on another high school thread, basically saying calm down and come back in a few years. I wonder if the OP took my name from that thread. Did you comment on the panicking 9th grader thread that came out right before?

I honestly don’t remember, @LKnomad. I probably did.

What top 20 school has an excellent studio art program and will meet full need for my B student?

Seriously…it’s there!

Ugh 8th graders who post under different names, yet post the same info a day later!!!

Posters who BUMP their threads one minute after posting the OP. No kidding!

Posters who start a thread to complain about the fact that colleges have visiting days for admitted students and that people go to them.

I nominate:

^^ seconded

^^^ Not saying I would do this, but if someone with time on their hands wanted to alert Scripps that one of their ED admittees had not complied with the ED agreement, that poster may not be finding herself at Scripps in the fall…the pool of ED admittees at Scripps cannot be that large and the poster has given a fair amount of biographical info, IIRC.

I also nominate that poster as the least ethical student I’ve seen so far this calendar year.

Any thread where multiple people jump in to ask a question that is answered three posts above. Or on the previous page. And they’re usually desperate for an immediate answer.

I can almost understand on the 20-page thread, but if it’s two pages, yeah, you should start from the beginning before asking your question.

(Usually doesn’t bother me but there are two threads I’m on that are just overrun with people doing this right now.)

I’m a student but I learn a lot from reading about these annoying posts.

@GnocchiB I suggested a similar idea - to send a ED Emory student’s post to Emory admissions because he was keeping his RD applications open AND re-taking the SAT yesterday to raise his scores for RD apps. A few other posters didn’t see anything wrong with what he was doing and one poster told me to “chill out”.

That situation is appalling.
