What are the most annoying threads on CC?

Emory guy has certainly revealed a lot of specific information about himself. And if Emory is unaffordable, how would Berkeley OOS be more affordable?

Yes, the efforts to escape ED obligations is appalling and sad.

International students from a specific region who ask: What are good scores for this XXXX(insert an ethnicity that is not white or asian)

Musical Theater threads in general, where pixie dust suspends the laws of economics

The “many” threads with kids trying to worm their way out of ED agreements this year. Honestly, I wonder if these colleges would want them at this point now that they are showing the level of integrity they possess (or lack…) Also, who wants a kid on their campus when that student really, really, really doesn’t want to be there?

Any thread with certain POSTERS who have an OBNOXIOUS tendency to capitalize words for EMPHASIS but it really comes off like SHOUTING (as it has since the earliest days of netiquette).

Because even after tens of thousands of posts, I guess they can’t be bothered to learn the most basic bb code for italics or bold.

Threads/subjects where people/posters overuse/excessively employ certain punctuation marks/literary tools such as the / or *.

*titles used to start a discussion

**members of a message forum who might be left leaning, hard core engineering types, or people with pointy heads.

Not sure if this has been posted yet but this is a doozy

Oh my, I missed his rant before I posted my response.

@anxiousenior1 I think, that, OP enjoyed, overusing commas, because periods are for chumps, and ivy-caliber students are above correct punctuation

I saw a HSL thread that was bumped 3 times in the first 15 minutes.

Oh, my, Yes! This is a doozy! Thanks for sharing!

Threads where the high school student says that they’re “going premed”.

Threads where a very modest stats student asks for recommendations for schools with the most rigorous curriculum.

Threads where a very modest stats student asks for “best school for ________ major”.

Threads which incorrectly use the word “decimated”

High school students answering questions about College Honors Society.

Chance me threads where the OP says “I know these are all super-reach schools but do you think I have a chance?” like anyone is going to tell them it’s not a reach if they already know it’s a reach…

But if you confirm that it is a reach or worse out of reach the OP gets mad at you and tells you to leave their thread.

When multiple posters tell an OP that based on their stats an elite school is out of reach. There is always someone who chimes in to say that they know of a B student with an 1800 SAT and no hook who was admitted to Stanford, Princeton etc.

One poster stated that he knew someone was admitted to MIT with low stats and she is studying law there!

Any thread with the word “official” in it title for something that can’t really be official on this site, to wit (and yes, these are actual examples):

→Official NCSU Deferral Thread
→NYU Fall 2016 Transfers Official Thread
Official February 2016 SAT Makeup Thread
→2016 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Official Thread
→Official Grinnell Class of 2020 Admissions Decision Thread!!
→OFFICIAL University of Maryland Class of 2020 DECISIONS Thread

(Bonus points for every exclamation mark or other bit of gratuitous punctuation or capitalization.)

Chance me as a sophomore? I’m sUpeR NerVouS!

Calm down with random caps, it’s not 2006 anymore.

@dfbdfb

But this thread is the official"MOST annoying threads on CC" thread!!!
