Threads where the suggestion to attend Community College is thrown out as the ultimate insult.
Without exception, the person doing the throwing has never attended Community College and has absolutely no idea what he or she is talking about. But his or her ego is normally so huge that the lack of knowledge isn’t considered necessary in imparting advice.
Ones that include statements like this:

After reading this thread and (couldn’t help myself) bopping over there, I had to contribute something. I hope it doesn’t get taken “the wrong way.” Really. I hope it gets taken exactly as I meant it.
All I can say is, I’m extremely happy he is not interested in any of the schools my DC has applied to!!

I originally came here tonight to grind my axe against threads that are started by someone unaffiliated with any college or university who joins CC for the express purpose of bashing one school about one social issue. Alleged antisemitism is on my mind at the moment, but there have been other issues too. I can’t help picturing angry people who hunch over their laptops just waiting for some corner of the world to turn ugly, do they can GOTCHA some institution somewhere. It sounds like a sad life, but the larger problem here is that naive parents and prospective students may not realize they’ve been duped.
Oh yeah.
Why do there seem to be 6-8 ghouls who can be counted on to post the instant that someone has died or murdered a bunch of people? It’s always the same few members, with a handful of outliers. Who do they imagine needs this service? Do they not recognize their own schadenfreude?
Threads when people agonize about if they should go to Harvard, Yale, Princeton or MIT (etc.) when they have not yet been accepted into any of the schools.
Threads where posters feel the need to bash a student with a disability for using extra time on the ACT.
