What are the most annoying threads on CC?

And yet another “I got rejected form all my schools” when they didn’t.

9th and 10th graders already “stressed” about what colleges they’ll get into.

Planning and preparing for your future is good- stressing and obsessing years in advance is a great way to have a heart attack or breakdown in your twenties…

Threads asking for “Medium-High Safety” or “Relatively-Low Match” schools, etc. Like they have to have a school to slot into each of 39 different categories. I mean, I like to over-complicate things sometimes, but come on…

Threads where someone creates a new account (or an illegal second account) only to slam a college. They then never respond to posters Always suspicious of the veracity and agenda of such people.

Where the kid throws out a wall of words claiming insight…and I can’t even follow.

Kids who get rejected from a school then to go on threads to bash that school with insider “info”

Someone with sub-50th percentile ACT and SAT scores asking what their match schools should be, after saying their reach schools are HYP.

I mean, yes, at some level those are certainly reaches for you, but…

And adults pointing that thinking at test optional colleges.

Ones where a new poster recommends that people work on improving their looks to improve their chances at being admitted to the Ivies and selective schools .

@carolinamom2boys Ummm, I just saw that post. I’m still sitting here laughing!

It’s on more than one thread @bahiablue

Oh, I have to go read them! Surely it’s fake… but then again, you just never know.

@carolinamom2boys I wonder how long ago she was accepted? One post talks about her kids in high school and one being accepted into certain university… then the other posts talk about her being accepted and I took it to mean this year. … Who knows??! I’m certainly no expert at all this, but that’s a new strategy!

It’s been said before but I was reminded of it today- posts asking the simplest of questions that a quick internet search would answer, from a kid you just know spends half their time surfing the Internet anyway so should have just looked it up themselves. I say this as the parent of a kid who would be guilty of just that if she ever went on CC (she calls me instead…)

“Ones where a new poster recommends that people work on improving their looks to improve their chances at being admitted to the Ivies and selective schools.”

Well, there go my chances!

Threads that bring out adults who are still bitter that they didn’t get accepted to certain elite schools decades ago and now give out bad advice to students on CC.

Threads where the OP is shocked they got caught cheating, and then a bunch of (mostly) students chime with with messages saying the OP doesn’t deserve to get in trouble, because it wasn’t bad enough cheating or somesuch.

Threads where someone brings up Harry Potterisms, but especially Quidditch.

Well at lesat that’s cute @2muchquan

Ones where posters are appalled when they find out that schools focus on GPA, test scores, rank and rigor , rather than essays and ECs in determining admission to competitive programs .
