I can’t be the only one who’s tired enough of them clogging up the latest posts list that I want to go onto every single “Will I get rescinded?” thread and post, as the entirety of my response: Yes.
Or the threads about appeals.
Chances of getting accepted, then rescinded, then re-accepted through appeal.
Haven’t seen this yet, but it’s coming.
Is it just me or has there been a lot of prisoners about lately? :-S
Maybe it’s just my heightened awareness. B-)
I guess there’s a lot of annoying threads out there. X_X
I’ve gone over a month. It’s not so bad in there. 3 squares a day.
Hope they put you on a healthy diet plan.
And tips on reintegration while avoiding reoffending.
Threads where folks are so sure because…they read it on CC or in the media.
Threads where AOs believe that their experience is universal and thus emblematic of ALL universities.
Threads where people deny published evidence, quotes and sources because they conflict with their previously stated opinions, and threads where people ignore the power of the simple mea culpa.
Ha! Threads where people quote people outside the process. “I read it somewhere.” But, truce.
@STEM2017 - Why, yes, click on “Terms of Service” at the bottom of the page, and you will see all the ways you can follow the rules.
Lol! I almost said that, but didn’t want to violate the “don’t discuss moderation” rule!
Can I ask how threads get labelled “hot?” Or would that be a violation? Not sure if it falls under: “Out of respect for both moderators and policies, discussion of moderator actions and forum policies is welcomed via private message or e-mail; these issues are off-topic for the forums.”
The “urgent!!” Threads that are anything but…
The “It’s June and I just realized I don’t have a summer job, what do I do?*”
*“oh, but I don’t want to work at fast food places or Walmart or for minimum wage or anywhere else that would hire someone without any work experience at all, like me. I also don’t want to put in any effort in applying places. It’s the thought that counts, right? The thought being that I’m too good to work. Validate me!”
Admins make the determination. They will feature a thread to make it more visible, and/or they believe it will generate a great deal of discussion.
And then when some do generate a great deal of discussion, the thread gets closed
Discussion is fine as long as everyone agrees or disagrees very mildly.
@Nrdsb4 I thought the exact same thing! One thing I’ve been curious about is if the mods can tell who flagged a post when a report comes in.
