<p>Who are we and what is the thing being done? And what is the other thing being done in conjunction with the thing we are doing?</p>

<p>I think he was asking what are we doing besides the trivial things which we are doing (what else we are doing in conjunction with those things). My depressing answer is that probably we are doing nothing besides those things which we recognize. For the OP it seems that these things weren’t meaningful enough (that’s why he was wondering if we are doing anything else more meaningful). What he was drawing attention to, I think, is the absence of anything else - that really, if you look at what you are doing, if you write it all down on paper, you will probably will feel less than satisfied about the list. </p>
