What are we looking for on Black Friday, 2024

I have various turtle fur headbands/gaiters/hats:

Here’s more that might work:

The charcoal one I got her is that turtle fur. Is it warm enough to wear alone? I thought that one would be good under her ski helmet.

For skiing, it depends on how cold it is (and how much she feels the cold.)

If it’s say below 20 degrees, IMO she needs more than a headband under her ski helmet…something like a balaclava, or at least a gaiter and beanie.

Depends on her cold tolerance!

REI had some fun ones that were heavier when we were there last.

She already has these things. She is a member of the ski patrol…but she lost her headband, and that needs to be replaced.

Got it! Hopefully some of the links above could work. You could also search on Etsy, I’m sure you could find some unique, colorful headbands there.

The tricky part is she wants fun colors…whatever that means. The one she lost was mine from ages ago. I don’t even remember having a headband!

I just checked REI, and really nothing there was fun prints.

The one she lost was fleece lined, and that doesn’t seem to be “in” now.

Pendelton still makes fleece lined heavier headbands: Shop Nehalem Fleece Lined Merino Headband for Soft Cozy Feel | Pendleton

All the links I put above are fleece and/or fleece lined, some of the turtle fur options are quite colorful. If those don’t work or if the pendleton or cotopaxi options aren’t colorful enough, I would go to Etsy. (I just did a search on etsy and there are lots of choices.)

I’m sharing brain waves with @mwfan1921 this morning ; )

In the store REI had some cute headbands but I think they were lined with smart wool. Not sure what they have left online.

Personally I like the smartwool lined better than fleece because it dries faster if it get wet. I have started wearing a balaclava under all my fleece stuff because I hate the way wet fleece feels on my skin.

No wool linings in this family…

I’ll check the Pendleton ones!

This is exactly what I’m looking for but a straight headband…not one with a lower part to cover the ears. There is a Turtle Fur one that might work…but she really wants a retro fleece tie die look…like the one that got lost!

I know exactly what she’s looking for - I have a purple one that I’ve had for 30(?) years that I love.

This isn’t totally straight but better than some. And fleece, colorful, old school but new. Retro Fleece headband

I have a few of these and LOVE them. I wash and air dry them. I’ve had mine a few years and they are like new. Very warm and you can adjust it so it covers as much of your head as you like. And colorful!

Maybe one of these? Polarfleece and 4" wide around. https://www.■■■■■■■■/shop/brchbrand?ref=shop-header-name&listing_id=921995089&from_page=listing&section_id=36616949

Here is one of mine - folded down and the.man so you can see the two layers - the cloth folds down over the fleece

She is very clear. Just a headband…either three or four inches wide…not something that can be folded different ways to make gaiters, hats or whatever. She already has those things.

I think I found one like the lost one on….eBay!

I did! DD still has the matching gaiter! My husband is hopefully ordering it right now!

I was literally just going to link that!
