Nothing that goes under the tree here either. We usually plan a weeklong trip in December- January to a warmer place. that is our “gift.”
Wood cutting board, wooden spoons, nice olive oil, a lip balm I like, the cookbook Comfort by Ottolengli.
I ordered a new IPad from Target on Black Friday that my husband can wrap for me.
I have asked for a pink flannel, floor length night gown without decorative lace or buttons. My kids think I’m crazy, but I get cold easily, and SoCal has been very cold, in the winter, these last couple of years!
I want pink because I have always liked pink. My skin tone works great with a light pink.
There is a lack of soft pastel pink for adults. I’m tired of grey, black, navy, and flowery, wallpaper prints.
I may end up sewing my own, with soft baby flannel, but I typically don’t sew for myself!
I like a flannel nightgown also. But, they are unpopular and hard to find (especially long ones).
I thought we weren’t doing many presents, because we are traveling a fair amount next year, but so far I know I am getting - A down puffer vest, a new pickleball bag, and some new Emu slippers (I get a new pair almost every year).
I would like a clicky mechanical keyboard. I don’t do a lot of typing at home so I would probably take it to work. I love clicky things.
Same. Thinking of things for Christmas is difficult. I bought my husband a nice field coat that he wanted and a Lands End insulated jacket to replace the one he wears to his job sites every day. I bought myself (from him) a delicate gold necklace I had my eye on and a crossbody bag.
My kids insist on getting us gifts each year which is a challenge with my husband because he just says he doesn’t need anything.
I asked my younger daughter to try and hunt down a limited-edition Starbucks mug from her college, that they only sell in Starbucks in her college town. They sell out quick, so I don’t know if she had any luck. I asked older daughter for a bougie olive oil and vinegar set that I want to try.
half the price at Kohls

I don’t buy many gifts and I don’t want anything either. We often do a family vacation and pay for our adult kids and SO. Last year I told our kids to plan a fun get together for all of us rather than a gift. So they planned a family golf outing, a bowling night, a fun dinner out, etc. Doing the same this year.
My D is taking a pottery class and I asked her to make me something. I still use a little pot she made in 3rd grade to place my tea diffuser every morning ; )
I asked H for a new dress coat (which I picked out) and an antique step stool for our high 4 poster bed.
What does this mean? It makes more clicky sounds than your typical keyboard?? Like more of that “tap tap tap” sound??
A pole saw. Or as my kids call it, “chainsaw on a stick”. Dear wife seems to think that is a dangerous tool, but I pointed out that she’s “allowed” me to use chainsaws for 40+ years, and they are FAR FAR more dangerous than a pole saw, which puts the blade several feet away from appendages, etc.
We have woods on 3 sides of our lot—there are way too many overhanging branches that need to go. I may just have to make one “appear” under the tree.
To answer for her – yes :-). I inherited a hand me down keyboard from one of my sons that is intentionally noisy. Think, the typing sunds heard in old movies. I have to say, I really like it!
This makes me laugh - every year I send my husband links to things I would like - and each year I get none of those things! This year it’s perfume, some Vuori items, and some Sezane items, including a warm scarf that I really want. So hopefully that will land under the tree.
I ordered a new jelly roll pan with a Silpat liner and a Staub crepe pan that I wanted. My old pan warped and I want to make Buche de Noel this year. I also want to be able to make crepes completes and the pan was far cheaper than a trip to France!
But looks like there is no pink.
I don’t need a thing, so usually I ask for Amazon gift cards. Perhaps I will ask for a subscription to Viki, a Korean drama streaming site.
A family ski trip will (I think) be the main gift from my husband and I to each other (quite pricey, whew!)
Husband also wants to get me a mountain bike (he insisted I get rid of the one I had - a little small & I had picked it up curbside ).
The thing is - I don’t really want a new, fancy bike. I’ve only biked a few times in the past few years, we have very few safe roads beyond our cu-de-sac neighborhood (so have to load bike into car for a trip to a park), and I have recently developed the mantra: “do the thing before you buy the stuff.”
Not sure if this is ungrateful but just don’t want ‘the latest and greatest’ thing (hub is a huge fan of that type of purchase …‘buy quality,’ etc)
I think that’s very smart. I have a nice bike but for whatever reason, I don’t ride it often. I have other things that interest me more. Hiking and golfing being the main things.
Also my husband and I are incompatible in riding. I like to cruise on my bike. A leisurely pace. Look at the flora and fauna. He wants to BIKE! Not that fun and I default to things I do like to do. Besides his bikes are much nicer than mine so I will never go as fast as him.
Hubby and I don’t exchange. We also tell kids not to buy us anything. (Youngest son sometimes makes us a piece of art which is cool, and oldest often writes some kind notes in a blank card from one of the museum’s gift stores he loves to visit).
We have so much stuff. And I am constantly giving items away that we no longer need, want, etc.
I find myself enjoying buying for my mom throughout the year, but especially for Christmas (new sweaters, scarves, cool socks, pajamas, etc.)
But I don’t want anything in return. I really don’t.
Okay, maybe a loaf of yummy pumpkin bread with chocolate chips. That would make me happy.
