TV shows, or watching anything on the TV. It seems not worthwhile to (re)figure out how to turn the thing on. If I want to watch Netflix shows or stream a movie, I just use my computer.
The “influencer” economy. Six year old kids are making 8 figure incomes unboxing toys on youtube? Lori Loughlin’s daughter making millions on Instagram? How is this possible? And how can I get in on it? 
The nickel design was last changed in 2006, while new quarter designs have been made each year since 1999.
However, these changes do not change the general size, metal composition, or (smooth versus reeded) edge of the coins, which have remained the same since 1946 and 1965 respectively. They also say “FIVE CENTS” and “QUARTER DOLLAR” respectively on them.
Music for sure. Which is why I listen to classical music, kind of timeless.
As for shows, I am still waiting for the last season of GoT, havn’t followed any new ones.
Tv. I love books and movies, and my kids keep me up to date on music and YouTube people and such. I just don’t like enough tv shows to know about the most popular ones. I watch the small handful I love and then I’m lost.
I’m a few years behind on books. Don’t have an e-reader, and our library’s waitlist is usually really bloated. I’ll put books that interest me on a wishlist, let them languish there until everyone else has caught up, check the reviews to see how they’ve aged, and then read them. Finally getting around to Bridge of Spies this week. There are also still some Jane Austen books I haven’t read, but – shoutout to William Goldman – that was before e-readers.
Current TV and music. I’m decent with tech and I can use social media but I’m not savvy enough to use it to its full capabilities. I’m not up to date on all the things my car can do. I’ve had it three years and I still don’t know what half the settings are for.
I think because I have daughters and a fashion forward DIL I’m pretty up to date on clothing trends.
One thing I discovered on CC was I’m not up to speed on laundry trends since I had never heard of dryer balls.
I still use bars of soap at home instead of the apparently trendy liquid soap and “body wash”.
Pronouns. I am behind the times on gender pronouns. No judgement, I just can’t keep up or get it right. Another teacher and I were talking about this just today. Best intentions and open mind and I still mix it up.
I am also behind on online payments/bill keeping. I loved getting a pay stub and can’t stand having to log in to see my pay. I don’t think I have actually looked at my pay breakdown in years now since we no longer get a paper stub and I see the deposited amount from online banking. I use credit, not debit. Vemno - I get it but I don’t do it. Why would I want my payment to be a social event with everyone to see who I am paying and for what? Bitcoin - really??? I feel like a dinosaur.
TV–I honestly don’t know how to watch tv anymore. Also actors–watched the Oscars and didn’t know who most of the celebrities, whether nominees, presenters, or just there, are.
Phone apps. First I had an older iPhone so it couldn’t download some apps.Then I got a newer one, but can’t see the small writing. Can I have them on the laptop with larger letters?
@ucbalumnus Funny you should mention bar soap. My husband was so excited yesterday because he bought a bar of Safeguard soap to keep in his hospital locker. I had him switch years ago to a men’s liquid body wash, which while his is happy with it, he misses bar soap!

I often have to ask my kids to help me with technology. Things keep changing faster and faster–we’ve lived through some huge changes in our lives! There’s just too much to keep up with.
On the bright side, partly joking/partly in desperation, I asked Alexa to sing Happy Birthday to my D the other day (I’m a really bad singer), and she did!
Memes.
People say “Have you seen that funny meme…” and thanks to my kids I now know what a meme is, but I don’t know how people see them or share them. On Facebook? I never joined FB, so…hoo boy, I’m really out of it.
I prefer bar soap myself. I’m just not as happy with reading electronics as paper books either. I can probably only do a fraction of the features the iPhone I own has. 
I hate bar soap and H insists on it. No idea why!
My kids keep filling me in on tech stuff and music or I’d be totally clueless. But I love reading about new treads and gear so while I don’t have new gear or follow any trends at least I know about them. D told me about “influencers” just a couple days ago or I’d be googling right now!
The concept of soap (bar, liquid, or “body wash”) being gendered is another one that I must be “behind the times” on. Of course, sometimes the stores will put the “old style” (non-gendered) bar soap in the aisle for one gender but not the other.
I would hate to smell like any of the Axe scents. Those seem pretty “male” to me. And not in a good way.
Seems like expecting your soap to be just soap and not perfume is also “behind the times”.
Nah—there are lots of unscented things for the increasing numbers of us who don’t like it can’t tolerate scents.
