Watching Jessica Jones as a anti-hero superhero. She’s a wonderfully complex character, afraid to make connections as people die like flies around her in her effort to get the baddie who ruined her life. But she’s sarcastic and lovable even as she’s pushing people away and trying not to make connections. The side characters are just as good as she is, a super soldier who may or may not be a good guy, the neighbors in the building who are basically good guys but with many flaws, the best friend, the manipulating would be Mom, the lawyer… And the bad guy is played wonderfully by former Dr. Who David Tennant. Warning the body count is high.

Not binging, but just Finished Miss Fischer’s Murder Mystery and Rosemary and Thyme. Like Murder in Paradise. Am watching Midsomer Murders, which is set in an English village. Endeavour and Inspector Lewis on Masterpiece Theater. Wallander (with Kenneth Branagh). Just started The Tunnel, which is the British version of the Bridge. Will also watch the Danish/Swedish version of The Bridge. Also re-watching Crimson Field on Masterpiece. It is about a field hospital in France during WWI.

Mae Whitman of Parenthood was a huge Friday Night Lights fan. She was doing some event in Austin a few years ago and she carried around a framed still of #33 Tim Riggins (Taylor Kitsch) everywhere she went, asking for someone to find him and introduce him to her. She also participated in the Parenthood/FNL crossover video where Amber records Landry’s Christian metal band at the Laundromat (and mentions a casual hookup with Tim Riggins in her past).
