Thank you for checking in! I had to laugh when you mentioned normal activities. I don’t think most people start their day off like you!
I’m always reminded when I first got pregnant. The doctor was old (he delivered most of the people my age around here), so I figured he’d be against me running while pregnant. Instead he said “You can do everything just like you do now!” I replied “Umm. I’m a runner.” He repeated “You can do everything just like you do now!” I replied “I’m a marathon runner.” Repeat answer. I said “I’m a COMPETITIVE marathon runner.” He said the same thing. I’m thinking to myself - I run 20 miles every Saturday in the heat of the summer stopping only once for one cup of water. Even I know that’s not a good idea for a pregnant person!! LOL. I just kept my activities to myself.
Similar here. I told my OB I liked to ride horses. Fast. At a gallop. Bumpy. He said I could do whatever I normally do. As long as I could get on the horse, I was good to go, but try not to fall off. ![]()
Hubby and I got our Covid boosters at CVS.
I golfed through my 8th month of pregnancy with S. We were supposed to go out in my 9th month but I didn’t get any sleep the night before we were supposed to meet our group so we canceled our tee time. I am not a runner but did much of my next normal activities. We even walked from our apartment to the hospital to deliver our 1st baby (about 2 blocks) and walked down 6 flights of stairs to deliver the 2nd baby (power went out to building and stayed out until after baby was born).
Today, I’m going to finish printing spreadsheets of deductions. I’m also going to print closing statements from our real estate transactions & escrow. We will try assembling all our tax docs so we can drop them off to our CPA.
As a reward, we have an evening meeting with a drug rep at a Ruth Chris steakhouse with my Board and an APRN I haven’t met who is interested. We will learn about a new oral lung med.
Oh boy. I get to have a root canal this afternoon.
I’m having a normal day but will go to lunch in about an hour with dh. I’m getting hungry!
DH is out with buddies watching the Mariner’s lose to the Padres. I just finished my regular Thursday laundry/cleaning (with Yacht Rock blasting). Having a taco salad for lunch. Will give myself a much-needed manicure and get some reading and crocheting in before going out to dinner with the baseball-watchers and wives when they get back around 6.
Oh, took a walk this morning. Gorgeous day.
I would be at the baseball game with the guys!
Sharp stick in the eye for me. They’re trying to convince me to go to the Mariner’s vs. Diamondbacks game on Monday. Again, no thanks.
Is it just me who comes on here and hopes that @VeryHappy has no more dental issues?
@deb922: Bless you!!! ![]()
I had the root canal; it was really quick. I was home in under an hour. The tooth was really bad – there was pus in there, so I really needed it. This tooth has been bothering me ever since my regular dentist put the temporary bridge on – oh, like three months ago?? – but he couldn’t see anything on xray or scan. The endodontist said sometimes the tooth looks fine but it takes a while to really show. I’m greatly relieved this is behind me and maybe now I can move on to having the world’s longest suspension bridge in my mouth without issues. It has to heal for a few weeks, then the endo does something else to it, and then my regular dentist fills the hole. It’s too bad they had to drill into the brand new gorgeous bridge, but there it is – it will look and function fine.
Woof – I promise, no more whining.
Go ahead and whine away. IMO tooth pain deserves lots and lots and lots and lots of whining!!! 3 months probably felt like 3 years!
Hoping the bad tooth times are now behind you!
My watercolor class was supposed to be Tuesday but that was postponed to today because of nasty weather. Today was postponed again…because of an illness.
it will be rescheduled, but I was disappointed!
I can’t believe what I just did.
I spent too much time on FB pages dedicated to buying and selling McDonald’s Happy Meal toys. I have so many, and I don’t know how to get rid of them. Unopened from the ‘90s, back when I used to eat Happy Meals with and without the kids.
These pages are overwhelming. Climbing back under my rock.
I donated mine to a ped’s hospital transport service who gave them to kids they transported.
I had many (in triplicate) because my Mom had a friend who worked in a McDonald’s and staff got to take the surplus when the new toys were released. Mom brought one of each for each of my kids.
Did that with the Beanie Babies, too.
I used to give the Beanie Babies to D1 when she was teaching kindergarten. I still had so many of them left that I asked both girls to go through and take the ones that they wanted which was only a few. After that I took a big bin to my office and all of the young engineers born in the 1990’s grabbed a few of them! The remainder I gave to a coworker to give to his kids. I was so happy that the Beanie Babies found new homes with so many different people many who grew up with them.
We had a box full of McD’s mini beanies. One day I stood outside the playground at after school pick up and let every kid take one. I did finally run out, but there were 400 kids at the school and I don’t remember anyone feeling left out (not every kid left school through that door and not every 8th grade boy wanted one).
