What are you doing today?

Going out to lunch with a friend. Next watercolor class at 6. It’s going to be a nice day!

The weather at my house today in AZ:

90’s aren’t bad here, but not looking forward to Friday. This is insane weather for March. We’ll go back to normal when this passes, but even so.

Not doing anything special today, just regular cleaning.

ETA: Don’t feel bad for me – look at the temp spread. In La Jolla (above) temps fluctuate roughly 20-25 degrees daily. Here, the spread is 30-40 degrees. Those highs are just short afternoon peaks with cool to chilly temps in the morning and evenings. It was 95 here yesterday, but morning walkers had jackets on and, last night, we ate on a restaurant patio with friends who asked to have the heaters turned on. I wore a light sweater.

We are still on the typical see-saw weather. Almost 90 - snow - 70s - today’s run was in a WC of 16 - in a few more days back in the 80s. My house doesn’t know if it should be 78 or 65.

I got to take off and mail back the heart monitor! Woo hoo! Now, I can start to try to get this nasty angry itchy rash to go away.

Painter got at least the first coat on most of the walls. We love the colors. The trim will take some time. So much trim work. That’s why we pay someone to do it, lol… Our painter is almost like a family friend at this point. Poor guy (he worked under someone in the beginning) worked 10-12 hour days/7 days a week for 3 solid weeks when we moved into our house 20 years ago. His work ethic is crazy.

Saw an obit for the grandson of our former neighbor. After we were here ~15 years, they moved about 1 mile away to be closer their son in a better house for older people. The GS was only a year younger than S and went to their school. Heard he had some serious issues, but I feel so terrible for the family.

Weather here today; slightly different depending on app. Point Loma is usually a few degrees cooler than a mile inland or up the coast. But I’ll take it!

Today I started looking through and organizing more of the trip photos but not in the mood to edit them yet.

We’re going to a Meetup Happy Hour later this afternoon.

Went to my monthly eye appt and it went much better than last month. I do get a car service ride there and back, and today walked into a St. Patrick’s day party at my appt building. That was a nice surprise as I got a free lunch.

Dinner tonight at DD2’s house as DD1 is in town for spring break.

Just catching up. Checked Panera prices near me, NC, vs California and my order was almost $2 more in CA, $9.39 vs $7.59 in NC.

Went and did my volunteer library shift today. Chilly here today (46) but supposed to warmer Thurs (61) and in the 70s by the weekend, possibly low 80s.

Went with DH to his dermatology appointment (a new ailment – does it never end??). Then went to the gym, took the dog on a looooooong walk, chatted with friends at the dog park. While walking the dog, I had a long chat with S2, who is having work-related issues. He is so not suited to a corporate environment or, actually, to working for anyone else. I hope that one day he finds his niche.

I have spare ribs baking on a low heat for dinner; I’ll also make some roasted vegetables. DH is playing tennis tonight so we’ll eat separately.

Dropped my car at body shop for repair & picked up rental. Later will make the corned beef & cabbage I bought yesterday for today. They rented me a Corolla, which they are calling an “intermediate” car. It has some scratches on hood but otherwise rental looks fine.

Michigan has had the STORM this week!

We did not get the 30” of snow that some did, only because we got ice.

Today the high is 17, got snow on top of the ice storm. Our power has been out since yesterday.

:crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers::crossed_fingers:that the power comes back on tonight at their estimate of 11pm. Some people have been without power since Sunday when this all started.

It’s 52 degrees in my house. I don’t have water, heat or electricity. I went to the Y this morning to shower.

I would not have been good as a pioneer!

I cannot get rid of this cold! Coughing up a lung, and now H has joined me. Neither of us is sleeping well. :frowning:

I had great plans to do taxes last week, until I found that our laptop with all the prior years’ info on it is no longer working and the Mac book OS is too old to download & run the software. Cue setting off to buy something new. Tech shopping will be the death of me. Ordered a MacNeo from Costco. Fingers crossed that it does the job.

Settling in with a book and something to drink. Maybe an Irish coffee will hit the spot. :shamrock:

I spent a part of the day trying to get in touch with my auto insurance company (e-mail portal and phone). Long story–A guy in a pick-up t-boned me, the car deemed unrepairable by my insurance rep. The rep also wrote that I wasn’t liable. I now have been waiting almost two weeks to hear from the adjuster. My mechanic says my insurer should have offered me more for the car (especially because I had $700 of work done in the last 3 months–in fact, I was coming home from the repair place when I got hit). We recently switched to USAA insurance and when I call the adjuster–her message says she’ll get back to me within one business day. Right . . . I just don’t have the patience to deal with this right now.

Today was perfect weather so I treated myself to sitting in the sun with a Sonic diet cherry limeade. Sunday the high was a record 96 then yesterday was 54. You’re drunk, weather. Today was 67, getting warmer each day until it’s in the 90s again this weekend. All these people in town for SXSW will be lulled into thinking that it’s this lovely all the time and want to move here. But that reminds me … I am so excited that the new season of Love is Blind will be Austin-centric. I hope I know someone on there!

My trainer for some reason started our online class at 10 instead of 11 so several of us were late and most didn’t show up. I was in the middle of cooking when I realized and had to stop what I was doing. I got most of the workout in.

I reached out to a stager our Realtor friend uses. She’s going to go through the house and tell us what to do to get ready for sale in case we do that in the next few years while also enjoying the changes for ourselves. Has anyone used a service like this? According to our friend, she’ll tell us “Go to Home Depot and get ceiling fan numberXYZ123.” That’s the kind of specific guidance I need! And she’ll recommend how to prioritize improvements.

Getting ready to juggle all the sports – Baseball Classic, UT baseball and UT in the March Madness playoff game. I love this time of year!

We hired a stager a few years before we sold our last house. She advised us on paint colors and new carpet choices. Worth every penny.

Spent most of my day traveling from SoCal back home to my city in the Midwest. I enjoyed the yoga retreat as well as the “ bonus” 3 days at my sisters house but ready to be home again. My guy came and shoveled the snow today and it looks as if the alley behind my garage has been plowed so I should be able to get the car out tomorrow.

A bonus: when the Uber driver dropped me off he ( unasked) took my suitcase and carried it up my 12 front steps and placed it by my door. He got a very generous tip!

Good to hear. I’m surprised how reasonable her fee is.

Today I will be driving about an hour and 15 minutes to have lunch with a friend from HS. (She drives an hour and a half from a different direction.) We had been meeting every two or three months, but last October she was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma and underwent chemo. Her treatment is over and she finally feels good enough to drive that distance. I’m really looking forward to seeing her!!

Upon my return, I’ll take the dog to the woods for our long walk.

My kind of day.
