What are you sacrificing?

I’m currently a junior, and like many others, I wanted to “take it easy” my senior year.
Then I realized that in order to fullfill my dream studying the performing arts in NYC, I need to be in academic overdrive AND concentrate on my music.

In junior year, I’ve sacrificed a lot - mainly a social life, but I think it’ll be worth it once I gruaduate. Realizing I picked a full load for my senior year, apart from auditioning for all-state choir, be the lead in my school’s musical, retaking the SAT, and taking SAT subject tests, I can conclude that until I graduate, I will be in Hell.(Symbolically, of course!)

Will it be worth it? Once I’m in New York, on a scholarship -YES!!!

Your thoughts please?
What are you sacrificing?
Will it be worth it?

What school are you planning on going to in NYC? Please, please don’t say NYU.

And what happens if you don’t make it? Then you’re without a social life and without a place to go :(.

Fordham actually! =)
I DO intend to perform!
I DON’T care if someone says " you’re not gonna make it," been there done that…
I’ve made it! =D

Show business is a tough cookie to crack, but with persistance(LOTS of it), talent, and luck… I’ll get there! =D

You’ve made it? As in you’ve already gotten in?

^Whats wrong with NYU

And i basically live at Fordham U…I’m always there chillin. My application was waived :D…didn’t apply tho.

No lol…
class of '11

Even if I don’t get into Fordham, I’m sure I’ll get somewhere lol…
I’m not gonna stop until I’m in NYC!!! lol

What about you, Romani?
Are you sacrificing anything?

Oh, and the social life part, I live in the DEEP South (AKA “Bible” Belt) I don’t really fit in, so I don’t really care for the people here except for my family, and very few real friends that I have lol

Nothing- their financial aid and scholarships just SUCK which is why I was saying please don’t say NYU.

Me? No I didn’t sacrifice anything. I’m going to a school I love, a major I love. I had an amazing high school experience with awesome friends and ECs and THEATER! Whoot. But I never put academics over anything.

lol, Fasinro, how’s Fordham?
Lincoln Center?

Good for you Romani!
I like your name, are you a Romani?

Oh…true! they do suck in that aspect…you sound like my guidance counselor. I said, i might consider NYU and he proceeded to say…‘DONT DO IT’…lol

Fordham is nice…I love Lincoln center…Keating Hall is also to die for lol…the outer structure is just gorgeous.

They really did a number on Fordham when considering architecture.

and Finaly Hall…just so many! :D

To make it in New York you either have to be freaking amazing at the preforming arts

or be insanely hot. like a 10/10

Yes, I am 1/4 Romani gypsy. :)

Did anyone else think that this thread was about lent?

^I did too.

^ Yes .

^Yes. 10 char

Sacrificed large parts of my social life and many, many hours of sleep.
